Hoover Dam, Oroville Dam, Oahe Dam...

Yes, those are three fine dams... What is not fine (insert the three fine dams here) is that I missed an eBay auction that I'd been anticipating...for...a...week. I had the calendar marked. I set the timer. I checked eBay 15 minutes before the auction's close.

I went in the kitchen to finish pouring up Wes' gallon of brewed iced tea.

I poured the last cup of tea from the pot.

I made myself a new pot of hot tea. (The electric kettle makes tea making fast and easy.)

I checked the timer. Three minutes.

"I had time" to toss a load of dark clothes in the washer since I was right there by the washer.

I checked the timer.

I missed the auction by about 30 seconds. It went for less than half of what I was going to bid. I did not bid earlier, not wanting to start the price going up.

Silly, silly, silly. I know better.

I took a little bit of comfort in the fact the winning bidder had only 65 purchases. I hope they needed it more than I. And, as with all things eBay, the same item will show up again.

Just for stress relief, I'm going to chant the "dams'" names again.

Now I'm going back to the kitchen, stomp my feet, slam cabinet doors, and enjoy a little hissy fit. (I'll put the dogs out first and there's no one home but me!)

Hoover Dam, Oroville Dam, Oahe Dam

And what does this have to do with "Smaller Homes" you ask? LOL It was a small sewing machine foot/attachment that would fit on two of my four machines, one of them my smallest Singer 15-91; I would use it in my small sewing room, and I would make small, closely spaced quilting lines with it! I would quilt a top for the next small baby to visit in my small living room!

It was a Singer #35932, quilting foot with guide, in near pristine condition. With the arched guide foot I want...with the blackside post and foot.

Hoover Dam!
