We are having our pool re-plastered and upgrading from the previous plaster to pebblesheen. We initially were looking at pebbletec and when we opted for sheen instead it was the same cost, no upgrade. I'm thinking you might want to check with a different company. There should not be an upsale cost between tec and sheen unless you are including additives that were not present in the tec.

You might take a look at the pictures in my blog from building my pool last year. I have Blue Lagoon with Shimmering Sea and I love it, although it is not exactly the Windex Blue I was hoping for......most of the time. Angle of the sun throughout the day and throughout the year changes the color dramatically. I did avoid the brown and green I did not want, but the shades and tones of blue actually clash with my tile at times. If I had to d it again, I would go with a contrasting tile vice trying to "bring out the blue". Our city water is very green, so white pools here are greenish-blue, not blue blue. wow...I'm really impressed, these pools are pieces of art. The stone work is so so nice, I'm very,very,glad after seeing these pictures that we use a very experienced builder here in Atlanta with a great designer and fantastic stone guy. I'm just returning from a wonderful pool they have build this summer. They used the same travertine stone and it turned out fantastic, I'm looking so forward to have them starting with the stones next week... 1000 thanks again for all the beautiful pictures, comments and info... I went with Pebble Tec Black Canyon, the pebble tec guy convinced me. It looks like a nice deep teal in the sun and pitch black in the shade. Here are some pics.
