Petition for Urban Chickens...
Comments (4)Hello, neighbor! I also live in Warr Acres, and I just checked (skimmed over anyway) the Warr Acres Municipal Codes and find no specific regulations prohibiting chickens. In fact, several provisions mention the term "fowl" in regards to the various responsibilities of animals owners right alongside the mention of dogs and cats and other small animals. There is a provision against "noisy" critters, dogs that bark or yelp and cats that habitually cry or howl, thereby disturbing the peace so I would guess roosters would be frowned on. Other than that, though, chickens are specifically listed under the definiton of "small" animals as opposed to "large" animals "...not customarily considered suitable household pets." From what I can tell then Warr Acres has no law prohibiting the keeping of chickens. I agree that neither your name nor mine would be helpful on a petition for Okc. Petitions usually want the names of qualified, registered voters in the area, and residents of Warr Acres do not get to vote in Oklahoma City elections. I do wish the residents of Okc the best of luck with this petition. Hopefully, with the economy the way it is, they'll not only get enough signatures to get this on a ballot but will get enough votes to get it approved. Debra...See MoreLifting Recliners
Comments (1)We bought my mom a Pride lift chair a couple of years ago. It still looks very good and operates well. I didn't have an opportunity to shop around, as she had an injury and needed a chair right away. I happened to find one in stock at a medical supply store that fit her decorating scheme as well as operated easiliy. She is not a petite but her feet touch the floor, at least for a few seconds each day; she almost always has her feet up! :) Good luck in your search....See Morehome office/woman cave
Comments (8)I am not finished decorating my girley office, but I will try to get some pictures this weekend. I have a traditional/bohemian theme and have focused on brown and turquoise. The main part of my office is my most cherished possession (my Dad's desk). It is from the 50's and I had it professionally refinished. I wanted to protect the top, so I put a pretty piece of fabric on it which I will eventually put some edging on. I use a baby blue leather desk set which is very feminine looking and think I got it at Target several years ago. This room does not have doors, but I am going to make a curtain from the same material as what is on the desk. The curtain will be pulled back to one side of the room so it would only be used when a guest needs it. There is also a mahogany stained wood/cane daybed and a Morris recliner from the 50's that I reupholstered. The thing that reduces the techno aspect in my office is that fabric on the desk...which you could put on your table and actually drape to the floor if you wanted to and even layer a lace cloth over the top which would give you that vintage or shabby chic look. The important consideration of your chair is that it is ergonomically correct for you. If it is, then get a nice throw that will match the fabric on your table and drape it over the back of the chair. Paint the area in a soft feminine color that you like to pull in the print on your fabric. Maybe a soft heather, pink or baby blue...what ever you like...don't be afraid to shout out that there is a female present...LOL. Place some favorite art on the walls, use a pastel colored desk set and some favorite decor items. A couple of lamps and a plant or two, candles, bowl of potpouri, maybe a cute area rug...you got it made!!! I have included some inspirational pictures here, so hope they will get your creative juices flowing. HAVE FUN!!!!...See MoreAm I The Only Woman Who Has Never Worn...
Comments (47)My mother and her generation of women in our family never wore jeans. She hated them. It took a long time for her to wear pants but she did eventually. I wore dungarees as a little kid and then wore jeans from my teens to the present. I wear them all the time..love GAP and Old Navy ones and low risers. Can't stand the ones which come up to my waist as I am short-waisted.In my hippie days, mine were covered with peace signs....See Moremhundt1
