Why do I only have 1 butternut squash growing??

This year I decided to take a cattle panel and put it in the shape of an arch, and train my Waltham butternut squash to grow up it. It's been a challenge, cause they don't seem to like growing up. I've planted them in 2 6' rows, one in each side of the trellis. I planted in mid May. I'm in Central Indiana (zone 5). They are about 4-5' high up each side of the trellis. But there is only 1 squash growing. It looks great, but it's lonesome! I've seen a few female blossoms, but the little squash seem to abort..........which I think means it didn't get pollinated? I have dozens of male flowers all over these, but no more females. What's going on? We live in the country and have tons of pollinators. I had soooooo wanted butternut squash over the winter. :(
