Nicole--si, il cuor verde d'italia, esattamente! :-) It's an apt nickname. If you ever get the chance, go there! Of all the places I've been on this planet, it stands out as the most enchanting, hands down. And the wine is unique and wonderful. I call that corner the Heart of Darkness because it's where the property line meets the seawall, and it's overgrown with clusters of palms of various sorts that never seem to get manicured--and so all of the dead fronds hang there and it becomes more and more like a tiny jungle as time passes. Small *cringe*. Anyway, I'll be glad to send the cutting either way. I know your trees are young. But if you make me an offer I can't refuse, I might then hafta accept :-) We'll talk about over the winter LOL it'll give us something to do while are plumies are bare naked sticks. If I decide I MUST have that tree (and put it where???), then you've given me enough info to, theoretically at least, find out from John what that sassy little plumie is named, if not Tangerine Dream, and then order me one! LOL it makes my day to know that y'all enjoyed my storytelling :-) You hafta have a sense of humor, I guess, right?, 'cause if you don't, one minute the iguanas are downing your trees, the next minute you're going postal! hehe In seriousness, the iguanas still come 'round often enough to decimate any progress that a few of my smaller trees have made-- it only takes 1-2 visits a month on their part. It's sad--Mary Moragne and Kona Hybrid each came to me as short 2-tips, and they've been picked clean so often that the nubby tips are tapering up to nothing. Another one recently broke a branch off Haleakala, on its way to shred the leaves, kinda beaver-style LOL. It's MADDENING but I guess there are some things that one cannot control. G

I looked @ South Coast Plumeria Societies calendar and there is not plant sale listed...Hmmmmm strange thought they use to have one, maybe politics. As for JJ's, John only has his own Thai Varieties not domestic cultivars. Also if your going to SD there are places that do sell domestic varieties, but I would avoid Aloha Tropicals and a few others in SD. You may want to ask some of the SD people if they know a reliable source for TLD around there locally as you are there. Matt in Northridge is a good resource also if your in the Valley. If not you can buy on line with Emmerson, he use to have a website you could order from or email him a request.. I personally have never, ever cut my TLD yet. I know if your buy Santa Barbara Jean Thielman sales and has some of Clare Corre use to sell some plumies, but I am not sure if she would still have TLD or is selling. Well good luck.

Hi Kenny !! Beautiful flowers as always !! I think I could hear you gasp when you saw that first root on the CS. Lol! That is how I felt with my Metallica!!! ;-) Mike. Great blooms!! I will check on the branching on my tree when I get home. It doesn't seem to have any issues with the branching , I would have remembered it from last year. They all branch In two to three tips for me. The one that stayed a single tip when it bloomed? ...... Metallica!! Wouldn't you know it! arrrgghh Hi Jen!! I'm glad you had some fragrance in your DS bloom!! ;-). Heat and humidity do play a large factor in the scent and coloration of the blooms. There is no doubt about that!! Hope you are well!!! Well, glad to hear someone else likes the egg method. The large cutting you see in the post just before yours...(SIDEWAYS, so turn it 90 degrees) I got last late November and it was totally the wrong time of year. I put 2 eggs 2 inches under the cutting in a large 2-3 gallon plastic pot with 70% perlite and 30% cactus mix. I have superthrive in the water I water it thru once with. The bottom of the cutting is BARELY scored with a razor blade and then into the rooting compound of choice. This cutting had 3 large inflos coming and it never dropped one as it sat all winter in our south facing sunroom. I carried it outside this last April where it sat in that same pot till fully leafed out. I just 2 weeks ago put int into the ground. I have never heard of putting dead flowers in the soil???? can you explain that benefit please... roxanne
