Can I get your opinion on a table finish please?
Comments (4)Rtmom2, they are both Canadel. The first picture is closest to the style I'm thinking. I really like the chair. The black one is just to show the finish I could not find an exact picture of my table. It will be a small rectangular table and the chair will be similar to the first pic. ci lantro thank you for putting into words what I just could not but my finger on. I thought the light would compliment the island but the color is off and it may look like I tried to match and goofed. I was afraid the black would stand out too much as the only black piece in thr room but you're right there is other black in the room and my granite does have black in it. Thanks for pointing that out....See MoreI need your honest opinion please
Comments (6)I think I will just give them to the children I know. Yes joyful i would put my name and address on them I'm really glad that you mentioned that, I will put one of my address stickers on them right on top where you open them. They are not the kind that have meat or anything like that in them. They have a cola, a bag of nacho's, sealed plastic containters with pull off lids containing cheese and salsa (the kind you find in Kraft mac and cheese in the foil bags that sit on the shelf at the store or in your cabinet)and a small individual size bag of candy. All of these are sealed in a box. I thought they expired next week but I was wrong it is the week after next. I wouldn't even consider giving the ones with any kind of meat or something that I think would make them sick or sweat in their halloween bags and mess up their candy. I should have explained these better in the beginning....See MoreMay I ask your opinion, please? (pics)
Comments (51)I can't thank you enough for all of the replies. It looks like dark wins, which was my husband's choice. After reading several of the posts indicating the light trim doesn't look finished, I have to say I finally "got it". Several of you suggested I paint the front door dark as well. I know you can't see it in the picture, but it actually is the same color as the dark trim. Magnaverde, your post made me laugh. When we were building the house, I had terrible anxiety about the garage, but it was my husband's dream and is now his "man cave". Luckily, we live on 25 acres at the end of a private, dead-end road and the house is set back far from the road. We've also placed several pine trees in strategic locations to try to mask the doors. So, when someone comes to our home, the garage doesn't smack them in the face until they are parked in front of it. :) Here are some pictures showing the the house from a different aspect. Thanks again, everyone!...See MoreYour opinion please. Should I give this company a recommendation?
Comments (17)If you don't want to give a GOOD review without fear of ruining the business, then better not to give a review at all. If somebody contacts you directly asking for a recommendation, tell them the same thing you said here. This is the good, this is the bad. They can make their own decision. We chose a kitchen contractor based on glowing reviews and personal recommendations from speaking to past customers that we approached on our own. We had problems. For example, he doesn't pay his bills so his subs hold back work and supplies. Work and supplies we already PAID for, but he didn't forward the money. It was pay out of our pocket again or be S-O-L. It was like our items were being held hostage. Mentioned it to a few of the glowing reviewers to find out they had the same issues, and more. WTF? Why recommend them then? His cabinet worker was an artist, and I am not kidding. He did some custom work to make prefab cabinets look built in and match what we had existing. Awesome work! We got recommendations based on this pretty much alone. But he was a sub. I would have hired him directly had I have known and bypassed the root of the problems. We were left without a kitchen, no sink, no countertop, for months when the whole job should have taken two weeks. Ended up with a custom island that is waaaay too large. It would cost as much to have it fixed as it took to purchase so for now it stays and we have to keep it pushed against the wall due to fire code. So much for the breakfast bar overhang that we have never been able to use. And it is unstable because we had to add wheels so it is moveable (fire code again). We could have avoided a lot of lost money and heartache. Dances....See MorePatty W. zone 5a Illinois
