Comments (27)forboystoo, you are so right. It takes a toll on me to stand my ground, but it would have been a bigger toll, and a daily one, to look at the crummy seam they originally did. Obviously, they are capable of doing a much better seam than they originally did. Do they have so little pride in their work that they were willing to let it go? Do they not have some level of ethics that says someone who has paid for a product deserves to get the best product they can deliver? Comments (52)Sorry everyone - I have been in Maui since the 23rd, and just got back home (way reluctantly) this morning... Rollie - The GG's are what I use (which are shown above) I have a technique that I use to eliminate the chips, and I am also working with a company to come out with a tooling set that will help eliminate chips and that can do straight seams and inside corner seams.... We are testing the prototype in May.... Shelayne - You will need some support for the stone over the dishwasher - the DW should not be adhered to the sink IMHO.... Hope that helps kevin...See MoreIs this marble seam acceptable?
Comments (3)I'd like the seam to be a smidge less white (which should be fairly easy to fix) but if you have to get super close to see it, it's okay. The change of direction in the stone though--we need an overall view to see if that makes sense. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not!...See MoreAre these quartz countertops seams standard/acceptable?
Comments (1)Place a straightedge over the seam please. I'll bet it rocks. If it does, that means the pieces are out of plane to each other and that the bottom of the seam edges are touching first, keeping the top from ever meeting inconspicuously and creating the wide seam. Let's see a picture of the front edge seam close up please. If the seam is high, that's going to wear unevenly and look bad over the years. A do-over may be possible depending on your layout, but that's a real PIA. I'd cut it apart, dress the cut edge with a Seam Phantom, put the tops in plane, and pull them together with Gorilla Grips. Nice color match on the adhesive....See MoreShannah Reynolds
