Comments (40)Thanks, AR_girl. Ann_T is right of course, it's not the same thing. But then it's a heck of a lot closer to the real thing than those breaded tenders with hot sauce that so many chains try to pass off as "boneless Buffalo wings." Really couldn't call the thighs breaded as the Wondra was dusted just enough to give the thinnest coat, intended to help the sauce stick a bit and the bread crumb dusting was far lighter and in retrospect probably inconsequential to the end result. As much as I love true Buffalo wings (which to me means plain wings deep-fried until nice and crispy then dunked in a simple mix of Franks and butter) my much healthier version satisfied my craving. Any compromise was negated by being able to eat them with a fork rather than suck my fingers which tends to skeeve me out. But then, what do I know. I served them with celery and (gasp) ranch dressing! LPink - "Small drumsticks"? Just a hunch but if they're noticably small you're probably buying drummettes. i.e. wings after all....See MoreJune 12, 13, 14 2010! Wanna Come To Iowa???
Comments (44)If you are looking for a field...and dirt, all you have to do is look across our back yard! LOL =) You will see LOTS of fields, lots of corn and LOTS of dirt!! You can even get your picture taken in a corn field!!! lol We are on the Very edge of town (if you couldn't guess), so, you can sit in the city and look at the countryside...which is usually a cornfield and by about this time of year, I can't wait for it to get harvested so I can SEE something again! I sure hope you can make it, it would be WONDERFUL!!!...See MoreEating Out
Comments (17)Arcy, it wasn't JUST about our food touching--one box would NOT have been large enough for our leftovers, no matter how you sliced it. But, if you're concerned about waste, it's certainly more wasteful to pack a bunch of different kinds of things into one box, turning the food into garbage that cannot be eaten when it arrives home. Also, this is one of those diners that serves HUGE portions. Practically everyone who eats there takes half their meal home--so they should definitely be building that into their price structure if it's an issue. Regardless of any of that--not everyone who eats at a restaurant lives together. Coworkers wouldn't want their food smashed together, people who are dating. And in the case of married people, many of us take our leftovers to work for tomorrow's lunch--all legitimate reasons for separate packages. And hey, why does it have to be environmentally damaging styrofoam? In many cases, I'd be perfectly happy with a piece or two of aluminum foil, or a paper plate and some plastic wrap, or a coated cardboard box would be fine for some things--not every kind of food needs a styrofoam box....See Morenanny98
