CATurday... tomorrow!

At Lakewood (NJ) Blue Claws baseball game. Having a jersey auction to benefit shelter(s) or something. You can bring your CAT for FREE! Before you decide I should be locked up or at least "evaluated"... what are they?... NUTS?!? Have only been a cat owner for last few years but KNOW my cat would NOT be happy sitting in noisy, hot baseball park in a carrier.Wondering if there will be some just carrying their felines in their arms? Or on a leash?

Somehow this just sounds like a really bad idea/promotion.

"Fans are able to bring their cats to the game (fans will need to sign a waiver and be in a case or on a leash). The BlueClaws, however, encourage all fans to use proper judgment when deciding if their cat is able to handle the noise, crowd, and atmosphere that they will encounter at a typical BlueClaws game. "

I assume they mean the fans cats must be in a travel carrier or on a leash, not the owners ;0)

    Terrible idea.

Why on earth would they promote such a horrible, cruel idea???

Auction of shirts is a cute idea. Inviting cats is a terrible idea.

Do they normally charge admission for cats? ^..^

Minor league teams use all kinds of gimmicks to get butts in the seats, not all of them involve using good judgement.

There's a single-A team in my area and going to their games is like stepping into a time machine. It can be SO rinky-dink, it's funny AND enjoyable. The antics can get annoying, but they do have their loyal followers and the beer, food and people watching make for a good time.

Beyond stupid. All three of my cats would be freaked for life!! Bad idea to bring dogs too. Fights and confrontations.

My cats enjoy being outside on a leash - - - - they love it, in fact, and I pay close attention to their safety. Taking them to an event such as this? Nope. They'd be terrified and I'm not interested in terrifying my pets.

They do charge for dogs....have been there for quite a few Bark in the Park days at the Blue Claws. There haven't been issues with any dogs that I know of...every one seems well behaved. As for cats?? Don't think it's a particularly wise idea.

The fact that one can take one's dog to the ballpark is surprising to me!

Sjerin, the dogs are only allowed on special Bark in the Park days and you pay a fee for each dog you bring in...sort of a strut your mutt event. I have never seen so much as a raised lip from any of the dogs...it's much more interesting to watch the dogs than the ball game.
