Wildflower ID please ....
Comments (4)Thanks all who recognized it being a coreopsis! Ruth, it looks like you nailed it for sure. Thank you for doing the research. I guess it wasn't a wild flower after all. Here is a link that might be useful: Photos of Route 66...See MoreWildflower ID please
Comments (4)1. has already been identified as Datura stramonium. 2. is a Mallow of some description - it may be one of the wild flowers from your mix. (Not a Hollyhock) 3. Looks like very thickly sown Antirrhinums but there are lots of things which look similar at that stage. 4. is a mixture. There are Poppies, possibly Alyssum and possibly Cosmos. 5. is Chenopodium album. An edible weed. 6. & 7. Mixed Alyssum, Antirrhinums and other things I can't id at the moment. All the mixed seedlings need separating out and planting at greater spacing otherwise they will grow small and stunted and will not flower well, especially the Antirrhinums....See MorePlant / weed / wildflower id needed, please!
Comments (3)yes, it totally could be. This house had a well tended garden, but in the last couple years I think the owner had some health issues, and we all know how fast weed can take over. I was curious so I let it go, one of the few I did let go. I can't see the leaves at all, they are under the cover of the hosta, and I don't think they are very attractive. But, that particular yellow colored bloom and flower shape seems to look nice to me with the lupine. I'd like to try and emulate that look with something with nicer foliage. If anyone has any suggestions as to what my bloom with the lupine and resemble that sort of color and light, airy, flower, I'd love to hear them.
