Appliances in Our New Home - Finally!
Comments (5)I have the Miele speed oven on my list so can't wait to hear about your experiences with it. We are going to stack a Miele Speed oven under a Miele Steam oven. At first I wasn't too keen o the black glass but repeated trips to the appliance showroom and well....I kinda fell in deep like with the look. Yours looks great stacked with the drawer. I have been going back and forth between the Bluestar and Culinarian range and decided (yesterday during a Bluestar 4 hour cooking demo) that the Bluestar was the right range for us and it really came down to looks for us. I think both are awesome! Post more pics as you get settled!...See MoreHelp with lighting our new Kitchen - recessed can question.
Comments (1)There is no "payback"; low voltage fixtures just give a stronger, more focused light and they are sometimes more adjustable and more hidden. They are used for a more dramatic effect and stronger task lighting. If you use PAR lamps use the frosted kind. For MR16 low voltage lamps use the frosted enclosed type or a diffuser lens. Avoid the R, BR and ER lamps....See MoreRemodeling our kitchen! All new appliances
Comments (3)Most likely the knobs just control electronics anyway, I don't know if any true mechanically controlled ovens exist anymore....See MoreConsidering a white exterior for our house but have a couple questions
Comments (18)My husband and I are currently building our home and I'm reconsidering our exterior colors. Right now we have very cool options picked out but I feel like I don't love it anymore. I've been looking up new colors online today and I found that I'm enjoying the look of a white exterior. My questions are, what are the pros and cons I should be aware of? Also what color stone or brick would you use for an all white exterior? Any advice is appreciated! Go through Pinterest, collect 20-25 white houses that appeal to you, then go through and analyze what they have in common. Are you attracted to white houses with green roofs? Or white houses with porches? Does a particular color front door keep popping up? Do the houses you choose have a shingle accent in the gable? What about shutters? Pros and cons? Not particularly. It's a style choice, not a functional option. Trendy? How about "classic" Gotta agree. I'm from a rural area, and 100% of the old-old farmhouses are white ... or, I should say, they were all white when I was growing up. Those that've been remodeled are often yellow or grey now. I grew up in a white farmhouse. I can't comment on my current neighborhood 'cause we're 100% brick....See Morehousebuilding126
