Search results current for Reviews! glitch with some other forums
Comments (0)The great news is that the search function is now bringing up current results and letting you access them on the Rate and Review forum. However, there is a glitch with it for sites that reside on forums2.gardenweb.com (like the Seed Exchange) rather than forums.gardenweb.com (like Rate and Review.) For those forums, it returns results but doesn't let you view the messages. I have reported this as a technical problem and posted the details on the Suggestions forum. My post on the Suggestions Forum...See MoreSearch works for forums.gardenweb, not for forums2.gardenweb
Comments (2)Forgot to add that the ?# that is supposed to follow .html on messages that reside on forums2.gardenweb.com is also missing, i.e., the results returned: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/exseed/msg0118570514094.html and it should have been http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/exseed/msg0118570514094.html?1...See MoreSearch doesn't include results past 10/17/2007
Comments (13)For years I have used http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en with gardenweb.com in the domain field. This allows for a variety of inclusions and exclusions in the keyword and phrase fields. The display of sort order is unfamiliar but one can quickly get accustomed to this by adding and deleting keywords and phrases. Once one finds what one wants there are several ways to save that thread. If one wants to save it brieflly just drag the address to a gray bar usually found below the address or bookmark it for longer keeping. An additional advantage of Google is that on very active forums one may find stuff in cache that is too old to find on Gardenweb.
