Comments (12)I'm one of the crazy people who installed limestone in a children's bathroom..... I had 3 bathrooms to do and lost my ability to make a decision when it came to my daughter's bathroom so I allowed myself to get talked into the limestone. I didn't want a "kiddie" bath but something that would still be cool when she's a bit older. Anyway, we're not moved in yet but I sealed it, sealed it again with Miracle 511. Here's a pic, the tile work is finished but we haven't installed the fixtures yet. I chose the mosaic and would have agreed to anything that matched it :) Tumbled limestone is not really my style but it does look earthy and my daughter is a real nature lover. The part I do love is the floor. As you can see, it's small bathroom and is now a limestone cave. My daughter and my husband think it's so cool and I guess that's what counts, it does actually look a bit better in person....See MorePlease help me choose a bathroom floor tile: marble? mosaic? Comments (53)Dottie - I could not have done this without an educated designer - it's not just about the design choices although I would never have come up with design choices as my brain isn't hardwired in those kinds of visually imaginative ways. I can appreciate things but I don't know how to pull them together and I wouldn't have the ability to figure out where to even start in terms of the sea of vendors. I am good about researching appliances and functions but get lost in the sea of visual possibilities :-) And I can't even imagine dealing with codes and such since Los Angeles is code crazy - I wanted to move some floor electrical outlets up a bit from the floor as I found it difficult to reach them when I had some hip issues so I was thinking about for the future - I was told that if I move a plug, the whole thing has to be rewired back to the panel box. And the darn kitchen sink has to be approved by the UL LOL - who would think a kitchen sink could be dangerous....See MoreBathroom tile help! Are my choices too much?
Comments (29)I used Whisper Gray Tile Shop grout and it's perfect. It is the lightest gray available. I grouted a demo sheet myself first to check it out. Great $20 spent to try a grout color before you commit!! You aren't supposed to use Sanded Grout for Polished stones as it could scratch them. We ended up doing it anyway (not heeding my own advice I guess) but our Tile Guy was very careful with a sponge and delicate. Sanded grout holds better than Unsanded also. On our honed floor we also did sanded. So for my master if I have this dilemma, I would go Epoxy grout. More $ but best choice. My bathroom I'll share pictures of will hardly be used (off a bonus room, not any bedroom)....See Moreakl_vdb
