I like them both but am drawn to the Seagrass. It makes me think of the design options for a boys bathroom going to an outdoor feel or surf or something along those lines. I like it with the cabinet as well.

Lol eld6161! It's going! We were going to get the tile guy to do both the br and backsplash but since I changed my mind on ds's bathroom to vinyl I haven't booked him yet! I'm still going with that adexUSA bone subway I believe...may have to go get that sample again in the future!

We're also picking up roofing samples as will do that too before the snow comes!

I think the seagrass is much prettier in the pictures. If it's also prettier in person I'd go with it.

Have you looked at LVT? We had sheet vinyl pre-remodel and couldn't use porcelain tile because we'd need to add cement board, causing a height difference with the hall flooring. (Which might have been the case for you too.) I thought all the sheet vinyl's grout lines looked artificial, so if you do go with vinyl, avoid any with grout lines.

We've been happy with the Armstrong Alterna LVT we chose. It's grouted so it looks like tile. They make the grout and it has never gotten dirty like regular grout, even though I chose the lightest one. Our tile is Multistone in White and it has a little gray and a little tan so it works with warm and cool colors.

I don't think this is the best combination as far as pattern but I wanted a light floor and light granite and it's the only granite remnant I could find. And I had out of town guests coming so I needed to finish the bathroom.

They are both pretty! My friend has the bottom one (fake hex) and I must say I think it is super pretty and comfortable on the toes!

Yes, mayflowers! But I have it in the dark version. I really like the lighter version and am thinking about when we reno our hall bath. It's a great granite in that it shows nothing, doesn't stain etc.

Eld, it's been bullet-proof. It does absorb some water where I keep the bathroom cup but it probably needs a better sealant. I just ignore the dark spot.

Akl, I wouldn't like it in the kitchen. It does have some texture which I think would make it harder to mop kitchen grime. I don't like most of the LVT patterns because they fail at trying to mimic stone and wood, but they do have very neutral ones without that "Old World" look of travertine or the orangey look of sandstone. I'm sure they have some linen-like patterns in cool tones, but most stores don't carry every color. I had to order some samples. I also think it would be an easy DIY project.

So looks like the seagrass gets the votes. I'll have to lay it out again and make a decision soon. It would be nice to have this bathroom done.

We've had the new toilet in the garage for months.

A bonus is that this little piece is only $60. Then the lino guy is an old friend, and it's such a small br it shouldn't be much.

So the remnant we have, while we thought it was big enough, is an inch too narrow. It fits as it is now, but we had 1 of the doors changed so it opened out of the bathroom instead of in (the doors would touch each other and it was very frustrating).

Because of that we have to add that bit of space on the floor, right now we have the carpet partially in the bathroom.

So that remnant won't work, and unfortunately in the halogen lights that are in, it appears pinkish. So we're going to look for something a bit whiter.

Took a quick peek at the LVT. They have 12x24 tiles! I am eying this one...might be too stoney looking, but thanks for the reminder!!

If it's just a tad narrow, can you use some molding on the baseboard that would cover it? Shoe molding? Quarter round?

gsciencechick- it would be just a tad narrow at the doorways, even with the transition strip. Hopefully the divider part can be moved as well. I didn't even think of that. Darn. Will have to ask the flooring guy!

I've seen a large sample board of 12 x 24 LVT with several tiles grouted and it's a nice, modern look. It was a similar quiet pattern as Silver Shimmer but a darker color. As with all tile, you'd have to buy a box and there'd be a lot left over for your tiny bath. In our larger bathroom, we had five of the 16" tiles left over.

You could just do tile, knowing that your son should outgrow the injury stage soon, and put a large rug in front of the sink to keep his tootsies warm. Then the only worry would be him falling off the toilet. ;)
