People in 9b/So Cal-- I have a few questions about your crassulas
Comments (25)Daisy, First, so happy to hear from you and your experiences! So your small m comment got me looking and it seems like American editors and rulebooks differ on the usage of small m from one to another. Some say it applies to every mediterranean climate outside the Mediterranean Sea area, and some say it refers to anything landlocked with that climate. Still others disagree and say if your climate is based on that sea then you can use the capital whereas everyone else must use a lowercase m. Just an interesting aside I had never considered before. Thank you! Thank you for the suggestions! I have not seen that book before and I am going to have to check it out. There is another book I want to interlibrary loan to see if it is worth purchasing called "Gardening in the Middle East." I fear it may have more to do with the desert, so I want to look at it first. Oh, the hail. Yes, that happens in NW Jordan as well. This information has given me some great direction. I will be taking a look! Comments (6)I have used both the glue pens (they are blue and can be found in Walmart, and they dry clear) they work pretty good, and I have used the tape runners. I like both and go between both of them for either pictures or paper. Vellum has to have a different glue since most glues show through it, I have used 3m photo spray and it works okay but here is a new glue stick at micheals that is supposed to work great for vellum. For reqular templates I draw the design and then cut the paper with scissors. For coluzzles you have to have a special coluzzle knife, or it ruins your templates. As for the magic matter, I have never tried one but have heard good and bad reviews on it, the coluzzle is a better system for a newbie. I like zig pens best, with the .o5 fine line being my favorite for journaling. HTH Good luck Love Penny...See MoreFew questions about the state of my plants!
Comments (4)The first plant doesn't look too bad. Since it has anthocyanin, the stems and leaves are supposed to look purple. It is putting out fruit, so make sure that it has enough water and it should be fine. Number 2 is putting out adventitious roots (bumps on stems). Perhaps it is due to all the rain that you had. 3 looks thirsty, but you say it had a lot of rain water recently. Is there drainage in the pot? Stick your finger in there to determine if it is too wet or too dry. You could add some more medium to that pot. Perhaps the roots are rotting. The final tomatoes look ripe to me. To make absolutely sure, gently squeeze them and if there is some "give" they are ready to eat. I don't know about watermelons. I can't even get them to germinate here! Comments (5)You don't need glue if your picture is under glass. If there is no glass use the mod podge spray to seal it. You can also use the kind you paint on but most prefer the spray on. The glass doesn't hurt the looks of the DP, it still sparkles....See More- 7 years ago
