Light gray for a south facing bedroom

I am trying to choose a light luminous gray for my bedroom that won't turn baby blue or look too warm because of all the natural light. I don't want a greige color. I'm looking for a neutral or slightly cool light gray that will contrast well with the molding that is painted SW Extra White. There are 2 south facing windows and the room is very bright.

I have considered Ben Moore Horizon but i have read that it can look green or blue. I've also thought about Silver Drop by Behr but I don't know what the undertones are. Can anyone suggest a few light grays that are either cool or neutral without looking too blue, green, or beige? Thanks

As many here already know, I don't do the "undertones" thing.

In terms of proper color order and systems with a side of colorimetry, I can assure you that 99.9% of the colors you perceive and name as "gray" belongs to a hue family. So, all you have to do is decide what hue family you DO want and then find a gray that fits.

This color wheel pulls the chromatic grays from the center out next to their saturated hue parents - it makes it easier to see the relationship. I scanned Silver Drop with my NIX color sensor and using its spectral data determined that it belongs to the yellow hue family, leaning a bit towards the yellow-green hue family. SW Extra White belongs to the yellow-green hue family - the two should work well together.

Considering the fact you have ample, balanced light to working with in the space, I would anticipate Silver Drop meeting your idea of cool and neutral.

I have untinted SW paint in my basement from the last 40% off sale because I hadn't chosen colors yet but I'm willing to consider having it tinted to a competitor's color(s). How I want the rooms to feel is a hard question. I guess I'm too analytical. Comfortable and livable -- somewhere between jarring/pay-attention-to-me and boring/bland? Guest room is rarely used, just the occasional overnight by a traveling family member. It might get more use in a few years if my kids bring friends home from college but I doubt they'll care as long as you feed them. :) Tibbrix, I'll definitely check out the other blues you suggested. I'm glad you responded because I remembered seeing that you weren't entirely happy with SW Languid Blue. Will take some photos after I get things better organized.

By the way, it’s really easy to say “choose white” but there are about a thousand whites - you want to make sure to choose one that works for you. Some lean pink, green, blue, etc., and unless you do big test swatches and look at them at all times of day, you might not realize it. I was recently looking at white for a room and because of some other elements I am working with/around, white of any kind would have been a less than optimal choice. But I didn’t realize that until I talked to a friend who is a designer. Color can be really complicated!!

I don't have any color suggestions, but...you can't accurately see the colors when they're painted on top of a colored wall. You can get some poster board, cut it in quarters, and paint those (maybe pick your top few colors from your samples) and set those against the wall in various parts of the room and look at them at different times of day. Make sure they have white behind them (another piece of posterboard) so you can see the colors accurately and not have the current yellow wall color change them.
