I've done showers that had all kinds of windows. I'm not saying it can't be done. Could we have a few more pictures? facing the other direction and into little hall, etc.. what does your light look like? Is it the picture or could this space use more light? I think the bench, while nice, is a bit large in scale for the space. Will people be sitting here and taking off shoes? If so remove the pillows and offer a place to put shoes nearby. An entry way without a table is just a passing through space to where you can set your things down. A table with a bench or stools might be more functional for you depending on the type of set up you have. It is always nice to have a last minute check mirror over the table and a place to put keys, bags, etc...

@lynartist i definitely need a lighter console - when we moved here I had no style and I’ve slowly learned not to buy everything “farmhouse”. 🤣 The console will be replaced at some point but it will be a while. my pendant light in the foyer will need to stay too For now. With the foyer light I have and then the wagon wheel I showed in my great room pics, do you think the Lucerne will look good? I’m leaning that way. It’s a lor less modern than my foyer light. You’ll be able to see the foyer light and the hall lights at the same time which has me a little worried but I actually think the Lucerne may be a good “transition” from the more modern/bright foyer and formal dining, to the more cozy and relaxed great room. What do you think?

I'll be decorating a newly built craftsman-style home with an odd-shaped entry hall due to the room configuration on the left side. The floors will be a medium shade of hardwood. The hall is 8 feet wide at the entry door, widens to 12 feet wide where the guest bathroom, den, and guest bedroom create a half-octagon on the left side of the hall due to an indentation, and then narrows again to 8 feet after the guest bedroom. I will put a table on the right entry hall wall but the hall still seems too wide for standard runners. What width rug or rugs to use? Do I ignore the half-hexagon shape? How many rugs for such a long hallway? I would appreciate any help offered because I'm really confused. Thanks in advance!
