Can anybody help me identify the value of this item?

Two things, put this in your watch list on ebay, then on the right, under " More actions" you will see "look for similar items" .. do that. You may find one just like it or very similar. Go to replacements .com and search, they are usually higher than you can find things elsewhere but sometimes less than what you find on EBay.

I can't give you a value figure. $260.00 as the starting bid seems high. The piece has quite a bit of crazing, the interior looks bad, and may even have a very small crack.

It appears to yet have its original feet. If so, that is great. I assume that the decorative sidewings and top piece are veenered. The grain direction has been very carefully chosen, a mark of a good cabinet maker.

Robert, if you can answer the below questions and requests, you will have much more luck getting the right answer (I would also recommend putting the info on the Antique Roses forum. This is the correct forum for a hybrid tea, but on the Antique Roses forum there seem to be more people who are good at identifying any rose, and happy to help): 1) Where, geographically, did your mother and her grandmother garden? 2) What is the earliest date which you believe your great grandmother grew this rose? (Tiffany, for example, was introduced in 1954. If your great grandmother grew your rose before then, it is not Tiffany). 3) Please tear apart a bloom and count the petals, and let us know how many there are, and whether they are or are not yellow at the base. 4) I presume this rose re-blooms? 5) Could not get at your pictures - Please post a picture of a cane with thorns. 6) Please post a picture of a hip, if you have any. 7) Please post a picture of the entire rose bush (largest one you have). 8) Please post a picture of a bloom which is fully open, but has not dropped its petals yet. I fear that "romancing the goods" may be a very polite and an undeservedly kind thing to say. What I'd be curious about is the nature of that bottom piece, the one that the books (or the cups in the other set of pictures) are resting on. That piece of wood simply doesn't exist in antique tables. In a really good antique chest of drawers, yes, a dust board beneath every drawer to help keep the things stored within free of dust (and mice...) but in tables, no. Assuming that the top surface of that piece of wood has been finished, I'd be curious about the bottom surface. Was it finished too? And what about the underside of the table top? Was it also finished? Because I've not seen anything like this in an antique, these are the things I'd be looking at in order to decide how polite and how kind I needed to be.

I think that price is laughable....about $200 too much. Do a google search for warwick fine china....you will find a covered dish if not in that same pattern in one very similar. And...be aware...that seller doesn't offer returns and has only had 4 previous ebay transactions.
I wouldn't bid on that.

Give posters the benefit of the doubt. Who really knows? there are a couple of eBay sellers who post, what I consider, ridiculous prices for things. Guess they figure someone might just bite.

Yup, but they don't care. I have seen outlandish prices on things and sometimes they get sold. You will see that they usually have a lot of "watchers", who are watching just to see if it actually sells. There are people with more money than sense and all you need is one.

This covered serving dish is the same pattern, and 1/5 the price of the one first posted, or Best Offer, with free shipping. The seller has 1392 'feedbacks' and 100% positive ones.

These are completed auctions for the same pattern. Only ones with the price shown in green were sold. The ones selling a dish the same style as the one I list above for $389.00 have not sold.
