Mud nest and pale rusty breast sounds like Barn Swallows.

They fledged today!!! Three little fork tails sitting on a cable outside my window with mom and dad nearby. So cute!!!

How long do I have to leave the nest alone? I want to be sure to remove before she lays eggs again as we have not been able to use our deck for over a month.

Barn Swallows for sure. I responded to your other post; once Barn Swallows find a good place to nest, they tend to return. Generally taking down any existing nest will just have them build another. Is that a nest box? If so, you may have better luck removing that....but they probably will just build new.

The nest is built on a speaker - and tonight I am going to take down the nest AND the speaker, so hopefully they will choose another location!!
