Rain at Last, Rain at Last

But of course everything was battered in the garden today. Yesterday, though, had many blooms. The outlook is still for a drier than normal summer here. Remember last year when people complained that they weren't able to view the flowers all day long because it rained during the day. I'll take that over this season when some cultivars have yet to have a normal bloom.

Rings of Saturn opened well after a very warm night.



Flight of Orchids surprised with this perfect pair.


Smoke Scream looked good, though pictures tend to flatter its reality:

Ultimate Perfection, the older Wilson cultivar, bloomed in a pot.


Visitors to the garden have been struck by the old Webster cultivar Solar Fire, which is huge this year.


This butterfly on In My Pink High Heels reminds us that all of Nature is imperfect.


Moses' Fire has had perfect blooms.

The old Latin Satin pleasantly greeted me with perfect blooms, when so many fall short.
