Two photos of damage. Don't know what to conclude, but the neighbour's dogs are curious, so it won't be snails. Twigs too small for possums. No other animal predators here except for small rodents. This is a large NZ Meyer which has been damaged over some weeks, also for the very first time. You can see many new blossoms as it is late spring. Lots completely denuded and then they drop. Too many branches and foliage to hide in, so pruning to open it up should help.

Maternut, Nice lineage, especially since the Improved Meyer wasn't released to the public until 1975. My Mother was one of the first to get one in Sacramento; she won the blue ribbon at the California State Fair 5 years in a row with her lemon meringue pie, until she got bored. Her secret, in addition to her fabulous crust, was the pies were made with Meyer lemons...not well known then. As for your reducing yields, I would assume it is because your tree is rootbound. You can go to a larger container, or repot in the same container, pruning off some of the rootball. The other issue is the timing of your pruning; if you prune off all the new growth (where lemons grow), you will get few lemons. If we assume you are pruning it just before moving it inside for the Winter, the problem is in the cold months the tree will grow little. My setup that worked wonders. You can also do this in a closet with a pole lamp or hanging lamp. You will need to remove most of the fruit. If there are no leaves then all the fruit must go. You also have your area listed as zone 9a but you live in Canada. Is this possible. Steve

2 weeks after planting. Start out at half strength Miracle Gro 24-8-16. It has the perfect ratio for Meyer lemon trees. In one week again at 3/4 dose and every week at 3/4 dose. full dose is 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. Meyer lemon trees are extra heavy feeders and do well at 1.5 table spoons per gallon every other week. Water around the drip-line of your branches and not at the trunk.
