Curling Upward Tomato Leaves...and pregnant!
Comments (1)If you have a place on the web (like Flickr) where you can put your photos, you can upload them there, then use the little field down below the box where you type your post (it says "Optional Link URL") to put in the URL for the photo. If you have more than one, you can follow the directions from one of the Gardenweb FAQs. If you can resize it before posting the link, take it down to 400x600 or smaller, so it doesn't overwhelm people on dial-up. There's a Tomato Pests and Diseases forum full of people who try to solve problems like this, if you want to try posting there... if you can get pictures up, that could make a big difference in figuring out what's wrong. Best of luck, and congratulations :) --Alison...See MoreLeaves curling upward suddenly. Should I panic?!
Comments (8)When I see plants reaching for the light, folding it's leaves, reaching for the sun like it's "praying", i think, they are very healthy.. That's how i judge plant vigor... Altough there could problems associated with folding/curling leaves, spider mites for example well spin a web and fold the leaves, almost choking the leaves.. Looks kind of like a funnel.. To me, your plant looks healthy.. Remember keep a fan on them and bright light.. Also, let the soil dry out in-between waterings.. The soil should be like a rung out sponge, most of the time.. Water thoroughly, dry out, water thoroughly, dry out.. No worries, looks great!...See Moreyoung tomato plant leaves are small and curled downwards?
Comments (6)Looks like an ok plant to me. Different varieties have different characteristics and tendencies to curl. Tomato leaves are very cool. I haven't read this elsewhere but I think the tomato plant uses them as tendrils by just observing my own masses of leaves. Back to yours. There are many reasons a tomato plant can curl that have to do with environment, toxins and simply poor general fertilization rather than a single obvious deficiency. IMO, this picture does not contain enough enough info to really rule in or rule out many of them. I would be sure to not over water the plant and smother the oxygen loving roots, though, so that is my suggestion, though just general. Is that a 240 mL cup? It might be very small and each time you water it , iof there is no drainage as the plant reaches transplant size, is a big change of soil water, especially if it collects on the bottom. This can interfere with nutrient take up as well.. Good luck....See MoreHelp! Tomato leaf curling upward and lighter color leafs
