The problem is I bought 2 for 1 Kilz when they had a sale at a big box store. So I'm stuck with those and I'd prefer using it instead of buying something else. How if I put it up with rollers instead of brushes. Now I feel bad because I bought a couple of cheap brushes that I can't return I guess, but better I should give them away instead of picking strings off the wet walls.

I used Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner (yes, same stuff they use on horse tack) dutifully every month for the first year we had our Bradington-Young leather furniture. Then it slipped in priority to every few months, then a couple of times a year, and now I think it's been three or four years since I've done anything to it. Looks fine, but I never had it in direct sunlight nor exposed to temperature extremes for a long time (like in a car). Now I just wipe it off with a damp cloth if it needs it. It's gotten a LOT of heavy use and often abuse over the 8 years we've had it - spills, scrapes, blood, cat "emissions" - and while it doesn't look brand new that would be a rather outrageous expectation IMO. Only thing wrong with it now is that it needs new seat cushions, the old ones are a bit flattened (but still comfortable). Now the Lexol just gets used on shoes; used to use it on my leather jacket until the poor thing just wore out (it was at least 10yo).

Not sure how different modern painted finishes are, but for our much older painted cabinets, I clean them with a vinegar solution. (I use a 50-50 mix because it's the same multi-purpose solution we use everywhere else in the house, but you could easily drop that down to 10-90 for a much milder cleaning solution.) I sometimes add lemon juice if I have one handy, and that would probably help with the vinegar smell, which is the one downside---otherwise it does a really good job. I dilute it a bit, add a drop of mild washing soap, and use it on our wood floors when they need more than a vacuum, too, which works very well.
