Help choose an under counter integrated drawer refrigerator
Comments (5)I have Marvel 24". I chose it because it seemed to hold more than any of the others. I use it for produce, but also wine, juice and milk. It works very well. And it's true that you can put tall bottles upright in the lower drawer. As far as I can tell it holds temperature fine, but I haven't measured. The produce stays fresh as well as in my Miele fridge. Cons: It's true that it is noisy, especially when it's first cooling down. It doesn't cycle on that often, and in a busy kitchen it's not bad, but in a family room or similar it might be too loud. Also, the gasket on the lower drawer is kind of puffy and it doesn't line up quite right. I'm sure I could get someone out to try to fix it, but I've had too much else to do. Or I might be stuck with it. It's no big deal. Just a minor irritation. In a more prominent location it would be another story. I agree with Lascatx on the Perlick reputation for quality....See MoreQuiet under counter beverage refrigerator center
Comments (4)We had a new SubZero undercounter beverage fridge (also glass front like yours) installed last week and that thing is driving me INSANE with the racket. Ugh! Not under 1K but a little over 2K. Just mentioning in case you get info that leads you to believe paying more might make a difference. Nope! In our case it did not. We have a newer SubZero regular fridge too and that isn't noisy at all...having their regular sized refrigerator/freezer, which is so nice, quiet, just overall awesome, is why we thought getting their undercounter beverage center would be a good idea. Figuring it would be less noisy was the #1, top reason too. I will say it again: wow, were we wrong on that account! So disappointing as unless I turn on the TV and blast it, the noise of the new SZ beverage center is just so irritating. And loud. Real loud. Not the atmosphere I was hoping for in my kitchen and common area...The only good news is that the unit didn't go into a bedroom. Thank goodness for small favors I guess!! *acorcoran* the Electrolux sounds great! So envious!! I will note that brand and model in case the SZ gets "injured" some evening - lol. I don't know how you would be able to tell about noise otherwise without personal recommendations of actual owners. I looked at all varieties in the showrooms and didn't notice excessive noise from the SZ then. Thanks for mentioning the name of a brand that does do well with the noise control. To the OP: best wishes and do I ever understand exactly what you are describing!!! I hope you find a good alternative!! Good luck and I mean that sincerely....See MoreElectrolux vs LG vs Samsung counter depth fridge?
Comments (6)We had lg appliances in our last new build and I would never buy anything lg again strictly because of the customer service. Our stove wasn’t working right and it toke months before they ever made it right and that was with me calling daily. We had a stove in our brand new house that only half the burners worked it was ridiculous. I vowed to never buy lg after that....See MorePros & cons of On-Counter Cabinetry
Comments (15)Thanks for your opinions everyone. The first rendering is my initial design idea on an area for a kitchen I designed; My design after this was with wall cabinets instead of shelves: But this is what they went with anyway; You can see they have alot of counter space, I thought the counter mounted cabinets were better but hey, the client got what they wanted: This is the full design here. It was my first big project, just reading off of blue prints (which I did not know what i was doing at the time, learned as I went):...See MoreUser
