For me the drawer would be easier to access (less bending down and reaching in). If you buy half gallon cartons of almond milk you'd need to make sure the drawer you choose has the height to hold that.

I would do drawers. I have a beverage refrigerator. Things have a way of getting lost in the back. As Stan Z said above, make sure the drawers will accommodate taller bottles and cartons.

Like with base cabinets, drawers are generally preferred to doors but are also typically more expensive.

Drawer it is!!! That makes a lot of sense. I had assumed I'd have to keep my drinks/milk on their side, which may not be a problem, but standing them up would be ideal.. I'll have a purified water spigot and filling a container and standing it up in the drawer seems like the better plan too. Once I do some looking, i"ll come back and ask about brands in a different thread. Thank you!

DrB477, in your search, did you happen to learn if 2 drawers make the same noise as 1 drawer? If it's equal, I might as well have more refrigeration, but if not, I'm online checking out the Fisher and Paykel cool drawer. What did you decide to do?

I'm also considering getting a 30 inch full size fridge and then a set of sub zero 30 inch freezer drawers instead of a freezer. They aren't available in 36", so I'm just trying to figure out if that will be enough. I'm nervous about getting too many units due to noise, but one seemingly excellent salesman at an appliance store told me drawers don't make as much noise as full size refrigerators because they are lower to the ground.

I don't know about noise for sure, there's only 1 compressor in most (all?) units so doubt there is much difference.

I was initially going with a 36" French door + undercounter fridge, but moved the layout around so I think I'm going to do a 30" + 30" side by side instead since it fits nicely in the space and the end cost is about the same.

There will be no appreciable noise difference. I work next to running units all day and none of them make significantly more or less noise than a swing door unit.

That is helpful to know Joe. Do you think getting too many units will be a problem for noise? Meaning, do they add up or will it just sound like I have one unit. I'm thinking of a set of freezer drawers, one drink drawer, a fridge and freezer drawer combo, and a 30 inch full size fridge. these are spread out throughout a large kitchen. I am stuck on my decision because I"m worried about noise. Helllllpppp me :)

Anyone, can clear the difference between refrigerator and refrigerator drawer? May I able to use a drawer without a full refrigerator ? If so, it will be cool enough and need electricity in a single drawer? How is "refrigerator drawer working- instead of a full refrigerator ?"

I habe refrigerator drawers and they work great. One top is refrigerator and below is a freezer. The top has pre selections of different types of temp settings (snacks,drinks,produce,variety etc) and can manually set the temp the preferred temp too. Freezer is great, it has pre sets as well (chill, deep freeze, spirits) and one great thing is it also has an ice machine if desired. love them, I use them for my drink station and barely touch my wine fridge since it’s mostly for looks and less convenient than fridge drawers! I’ve seen other people use them as a snack station for kids with apples juices cheese strings etc. I love it as a beverage center I can fit a ton of stuff in it: beers ciders wines orange juice etc. I use the freezer for spirits.

for the noise, it is so quiet I don’t ever hear it running IMO but the ice machine sure is loud I can hear when the water pump turns on to refill the ice tray and the ice drops into the bucket it’s loud.

My cabinet guy never was able to fit it in flat to the rest of the cabinets for some reason, if your considering cabinet ready you may want to check that first. The ice machine doesn’t have a way of recognizing when the bucket is full so you could easily overflow the ice bucket into affinity which is annoying but after some discipline of turning it off and on when needed, it works fine for us. It’s nice not having to use the ice maker in my large freezer because it’s always so full of food and etc.

overall love it and will always use them instead of wine fridge/undercounter door fridge.
