Comments (3)I'm not sure where you're located, but Cheryl Niemela of Amazing Vase in Cokato operates a cut flower business. She sells cut peonies well into the summer. 320-286-5384 I am in no way affiliated with her or her business....See MoreLate & Very Late Season Peppers - Question
Comments (3)Yes, if conditions are right you will theoretically get a bigger, earlier crop. If conditions aren't right, you could always get a worse crop than the first year. Josh...See Morepeony season, and robins too :-)
Comments (8)I thought I'd add a couple more pictures - from the backyard - of things that pleased me when I was out on the back porch this afternoon. The fringetree in the patio hosta bed is blooming and I liked the contrast between the downward dangling flowers on it and the upward plumes of the Persicaria polymorpha beside it that is just starting to bloom: The neighbour to the north's beautiful C. kousa (not sure of the variety - maybe China Girl....?) dogwood is in full bloom. Our C.kousa is just starting to show color and will bloom when hers is finished. We both enjoy the dogwoods - and other things - in each other's gardens. The dogwood season starts on our side with a young native dogwood that blooms down by our shed - she can see that one from their family room. (The thing on the patio is our air conditioner screen being prepped to make it taller to screen the new, taller air conditioner unit that was installed last fall. And the cursed new ac decided not to work when we tried to turn it on Saturday night! We're currently having some very hot days.... :-( Parts needed to repair it are supposed to arrive tomorrow - just as the temperatures cool down again - grrrrr! A closer view of the dogwoods - you can just see the start of the flowers on ours:...See MoreIs my peony dead?
Comments (2)Don't give up on it yet. I am farther sout than you, and have a couple that just showed up last week. Newly planted ones can take longer too. I have 5 that have not showed up, 2 has always been puny and 1 that is new. Not sure what has happened to the others, but I am ready to give up on them all now....See More- 7 years ago
