Miele dishwasher toe kick
Comments (12)Thank you for that very detailed description, Wa8b! I'm impressed with how knowledgeable you are about this - though I guess you had to be if you had the same problem yourself. Your solution sounds very clever - good work! My carpenter did manage to attach the plastic toe kick today, and I believe he attached it correctly since the metal brackets are no longer on the counter. ;-) I don't think it quite lines up with the toe kick of the cabinet next to it, but that doesn't bother me at all! It's such a narrow kitchen that you can't even see the toe kicks. I just wanted the gap underneath to be closed, and now it is. It's a nice dishwasher, btw. :-)...See MoreMiele DW toe kick
Comments (10)I have the diamond. There are two tow kick options. One is to use the black plastic Toe kick and included hardware. If you wanted to use the plastic one, it has to be cut down since the height is based on European standards (Higher toekicks). If you want wood toe kicks that mach the surrounding cabinetry you then use the same toe kick material. There is a couple of ways of doing this depending on your cabinets. It needs to be removable for service. I have cabinets on leg levelers so my toe kick snaps on adjacent cabinets. just runs across the front of the DW. Can be pulled off. If your cabinets sit on a platform or have integrated toe kicks, then you can take a couple of magnets (Using a set with the magnet and the metal tab like you may use to keep bedroom closet doors closed) and attach them to the side of the adjacent cabinets and glue or screw the metal piece on the toe kick. The toe ick then snaps on the magnet and can be removed. The toe kick height might have to be cut down to allow the door to open. My toe kicks have a gap across the whole width anyway at the top so had clearance....See Moretoe kick on Miele built in fridge and dishwasher
Comments (9)check out this picture. I don't know about Miele but I have a Thermador integrated frig that looks exactly the same as the vent shown on this picture. (mine is bottom freezer drawer) The vent is above the toe kick. The door is longer than where the vent starts. so there is a small gap where the air circulates between the back of the door panel and above the toe kick when the door is closed. The toe kick is made of the matching material as the rest of your cabinets. The same is also true for Miele DW. This is hard to explain. Any appliance store that has integrated paneled Miele frig should be able to show you this. MY DW and frig did not come with any black toe kick. They come with nothing since the panels are to be custom made... Here is a link that might be useful: miele toe kick...See MoreDoes a toe kick go under a panelled dishwasher?
Comments (9)Mine was initially left without - just piece of black metal down there. I asked the carpenter who was doing the cabinet installation about it and he made a piece for it and attached with velcro. He had to adjust it slightly after installation because the door kind of hit the toe kick piece when you opened the DW and dislodged it a bit. Once that was done it's been fine and in place for nearly five years now....See Morekaseki
