Hello! Al~ I'll start over. and put 5-1-1. It wont help to bury it. It alread is like a raised bed. It's a tire with one side trimed away so it sits on the ground. I figured adding to it was a longshot.. and seeing the 5%, I guess I was right. lol. You've been a huge help and I hope others learn from this. Part of the problem here, is my yard has a curb the whole way around, and when it rains, it becomes a small lake. So the container doesn't wick very well. I put the plants in it before losing my car. they were sposed to be temporary.:( I have all I need now for the 5-1-1 so I will do that. It's still a long season here.. so I want it ready for fall. Every rose has it's own bloom cycle length so there's no way to say for sure. It can range anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks usually. But being indoors it will be iffy to keep them alive at all. Even with a grow light and misting they won't get enough light and humidity probably. If possible I'd move them to a south side window where they should get stronger light and place them on a tray of gravel with water in it but NOT touching the bottoms of the pots to raise the humidity around them. When you split those plants up you may have injured the root systems and that would be the cause of the yellow leaf drop and death of the one plant. They will need time to rebuild their root systems before you can expect them to bloom again. Make sure the pots have very good drainage and feed them a diluted (like 1/2 strength) fertilizer at least once a month too.

THere are a lot of different theories on the "best" way to grow strawberries. I ultimately comes down to what your goals are. If you want a lot of strawberries THIS year, then don't take the blossoms off, and prune all the runners. If you want some strawberries this year, and more next year, prune all but ONE runner. Next year, each plant will become TWO. Do this every year, and you will never have to buy more strawberries again. The trick is to remove each plant after it's third season. That means a lot of work on your part to remember it all. There are many other options out there as well, but these are the two I use. If you aren't good at keeping track of things, prune everything, get more fruit from the plants you have and replace it all after 3 years. If you have more space than strawberries currently, let one runner go to produce a new generation for you, and replace only the 3 year old strawberries. 2 and 3 year old plants will produce more than the first year plants, but 4 year old plants start to decline, so that's when you want to replace them.

I did the same thing, well actually the wind blew it off a picnic table while it was in a one gallon pot. In my case it was a known vigorous indeterminate hybrid (Bolseno.) The "stump" has sent up several new growth spurts and is doing great. I also rooted the top as insurance. If your tomato plant is a determinate, I dont think it will work from the roots. But rooting the top sounds viable.
