Vine Identification - Poisonious?
Comments (4)The vine with the 3 leaves growing on the fence is (and issuing from the same basal plant directly under the fence) : Toxicodendron radicans commonly known as Poison Ivy I have it growing on my property and the town I live in is covered in it.. The leaves do not always show the indentations and anybody who claims otherwise simply doesn't have enough experience with the varied forms that Poison Ivy can show , even on the same exact vine. I went into this on the ID Forum on the other site which cannot be mentioned on here... The 5 leaved vine on the ground is : Parthenocissus quinquefolia - commonly known as Virginia creeper which can also show different leaf formations on the same exact vine. I also went in this on the ID forum of the other site which cannot be mentioned on here. I am extremely allergic to Poison Ivy ( as in I can get it without even touching the plant ) and I know that plant no matter what form it takes, I am not allergic to Virginia creeper and can handle it frequently with no bad reaction at all. Hope that helps... regards, Ron...See MorePlease help with vine identification....
Comments (4)i planted morning glory seeds last year and they grew but never produced flowers. this leads me to believe that they are not morning glory's at all. I really am not sure. This year they came up as far away as twenty feet. The big ones are strong and when i pull the little ones up they seem to be connected together. also the roots are red. Are these morning glory's or something more sinister such as a weed?...See MoreIdentification Assistance - Weed/Vine Overtaking My Shrub Beds

Comments (5)I have a couple of questions for you, without which we may not be able to guess the answer: Where are you? State, nearest big city, zone, if you know it. Is the vine growing in sun or shade? How big is the flower? (As big as a quarter? A dime?) How big is the fruit? Is it climbing into the trees or bushes, or is it along the ground?...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
