I am gonna finish Humpty...build him a wall to sit on too...and then make a Old Shoe that the Lady lived in...it will be about 3ft tall and 3ft long and 2ft wide...with stained glass windows and it will light up at night!!! And have a yard with garden art in it!!!lol! Oh ya, I'm into the Fairytale theme!ha! This is all after I get my Throne done/pond made/front entry mosaiced...hmmm...I may be busy for a while.....LOL!...oh, ya, let's not forget Yoda too!!!sheesh! Comments (3)As others will probably suggest, water when the soil is dry to a knuckle. If your climate is warm/hot/dry, I'd probably suggest daily watering for a few weeks for such small plants(very small root zones), but it also depends how quickly your soil drains, etc. Generally smallish conifers can probably go a couple days between watering in warm/hot conditions but unless you're in a heavy-slow draining clay, they can probably be watered daily with no ill effects. A pic would be helpful! -Will...See MoreSassy's Fairy Garden and 'Nano' gardening
Comments (3)I have an old regrigerator that came with the house and have it running in my garage. I use it for "overflow" such as an extra gallon of milk and for beverages. I am not a big beer drinker but a very cold one is nice coming in from mowing in really hot weather. I realize using something like this is not practical, but could be used in working out kinks. I have no idea whether a contolled very low light condition in summer, coupled with low temperature could be done. There are small water chillers and cold recirculating water could keep a cubic foot of air at 40 degrees without being too costly. In keeping marine aquariums metal halide lamps are often used for coral. They give off so much heat that chillers are needed to keep from cooking everything is a tank. These are quite small. I realize this is virgin ground. But who would have thought that putting a poinsietta in a closet would be a good idea. I was thinking about moisture and crown rot and would guess dirtless soil with moisture gels would need to be used also....See MoreIdeas needed for a fairy/gnome garden.
Comments (7)I love gnomes... I outfitted my front beds this season in some new gnomes, shrooms and pathways.... The pathways are pebble tile mesh backed strips for tiling a wall or floor, normally they'd be adhered to your wall and then grouted...but I just laid them down flat in the bed for pathways... Sometimes I tend to think my ideas are neater than they really are...so far I haven't disappointed myself with this...what do you think? Check the link out below for my previous thread from a week ago or so showing my front beds.. Here is a link that might be useful: Sun in My Face...See Morearcy_gw
