Yes go to Academy sports and outdoors they have a good selection. My husband loves his frog togs wet weather wear. We both got full sets of the plastic slickers to keep in the rv for emergencies. He also bought a very nice set in camo, he love camo. The frog togs come in various colors. His is a brownish color.

Raven- now your advice on how to stay dry I will take! My gosh, I feel like a wimp whining about getting wet in the rain!

My husband wears THIS MODEL from LLBean, but I wouldn't call it a slicker, but a jacket. It's very nice, not heavy, falls just below his butt. He won't wear a longer coat.

Try a boating store, people who sail need to be dry and not restricted in movement. My choices close to home are Seattle Marine, West Marine, Fisheries Supply etc.

My standby is a jacket to thighs with hood, lots of flapped pockets by Sea Gear brand - that coat has seen A LOT of garden tours and plant nurseries. It's dug a few clams too but I don't like to get it that dirty since I wear it in public ;-)

DH's go-to are the lighter weight Grunden styles (more than one weight so don't get something 'Deadliest Catch' heavy as noted above). He works in them, needs something water proof without being so heavy he gets overheated moving (miles) through timber and brush - and reasonably tear and snag proof. He's worn Grunden's outerwear for years.

We got ours at the local LLBean outlet and are happy with them...light weight and waterproof. You have to be careful as some jackets may look it but are not waterproof but water resistant.

I used to watch Deadliest Catch during the first couple of seasons. I love boats and being on the water, but the thought of tossing and heaving in pitch black seas just freaks me out!

My parents-in-laws used ponchos for summer rains when camping. Some came with a hood. It covers the shoulders and if long enough, the posterior as well. It had no sleeves. When you needed to grab something. you raised the edge and stuck out your arm. That was ok for short periods of arm use - no good for a long periods of holding a fishing rod. A poncho with sleeves is better.
