Antique car question
Comments (3)One aftermarket company designed and built these initially as an accessary..so this could fit any number of vehicles.. But, I am not positive this one was made for an automobile... Just my opinion JMO...See MoreCar Accident....Questions
Comments (10)Sorry to hear about your accident Linda. Absolutely you have a right. You are entitled to compensation for ALL of your inconveniences. Document everything. Write down all the hours you are spending not only driving back and forth, but making calls to the insurance companies, calling for estimates, etc. I work for myself and when I was in a similar accident last year, the insurance company paid me for EVERY hour I lost away from work, every penny I spent (including gas), etc. Take a look at the Nolo site. They have a lot of very clear advice on how to handle a vehicle accident. Also, even if you were not bruised and banged up, please consider going to a medical practitioner if you are showing any signs of soreness, loss of sleep, etc. Ann Here is a link that might be useful: NOLO: Take notes after an accident or injury...See MoreCar insurance question
Comments (17)Just a side note.... Even the spouses and dependents of our Military members must comply with the laws of the state they reside, even tho the service member can keep their 'home of record' license and plates. As a 24 year "camp follower", I have had to be licensed in more states and countries (yes, countries) than I can count this morning.....while DH retained his 1954 drivers license until he surrendered it here in Oregon in 2004.(I could be wrong about that year, as he did have a different class license for Ca for some years...and may have had a newer one after he retired.) I ran into this problem when DH was serving overseas and I was living in a different state....much to my surprise, I needed both plates and matching DL asap. I do wonder if any of those laws have been changed (for our Military since the events in the Middle East)...but somewhat recently DD had the same problem when in Florida with a car (in her name) and DH stationed there....including bill of sale and other stuff....See Morecar question... deployed air bag.
Comments (11)A little more information. It's an 04 Sante Fe with over 140,000 miles on it. When this thing EXPLODED, one of the first things I did was go online and check for recalls for airbags. There was a recall in models a few years newer... like 2007, maybe. Can't remember exactly how I ended up there, but went to NTSB (?? National Traffic Safety Board, or something like that) and filed a report... not a claim or anything. Thinking if same "report" comes in from significant # of people, it might prompt an investigation/recall? Went to dealer within first week. Just to look at it was gonna be something like $150... that could be applied to the repair, if I chose to have them do it. With no inspection, was told seat back would need to be replaced... upholstery neatly ripped, right on seam, from shoulder to butt right next to door. After guy looked at odometer for mileage, was told "probably" due to "years" of stuff being shoved under passenger seat?? The Sante Fe has a nice pull out "tub", so no shoving of stuff under seat. Passenger seat has probably not even been sat on more than a few dozen times since I bought it in 2004?! Played significant amount of email and phone "tag" over this matter. Can't help but think they think it'll be come an aggravation and I'll giver up? Have NO idea what it will cost for repair, but I just don't want to pay for it! I imagine well more than my $500 deductible?!? My argument is that it just shouldn't have exploded for NO reason! Didn't hit or get hit by anything. Smooth dry road. Nothing unusual about driving... like sudden stops. Just BOOM, outta the blue... scared the you-know-what outta me!...See Morekatlan
