Ruellia ( Mexican Petunia )...Does it have purple or pink flowers that are very thin and delicate and tubular in shape? Can you see small nodules near the nodes or sections of the stem? If so then you def have a Ruellia. which by the way you can share or propagate by cutting at the stem nodes and sticking in dirt. :) Cheers

I am green, or orange as the case may be, with envy! So pretty, and I supposedly don't like orange. Apparently this year I do. A few seeds sprouted, but something thinks these plants are YUMMY. Think it's partially my fault for the probably-too shady spots where I put them. Wrong romantic notions about them twining all over this fugly metal thing... Yours looks very sunny and dry, thus happier. Very nice. Did you just forget the name, or did a critter grace your garden with the seed? Maybe they prefer to be "fugitives?" Ha!

javalita, Hmmm. I don't know what mine smell like in the evening--- Usually in the evening (around 8 - 9 pm) I'm out there with the scissors trying to snip the walking sticks in half -- in the dark, I'm usually trying to avoid being scourged by rose thorns, so haven't stuck my nose in it's direction. It's right behind a Double Delight and an Intrigue (not to mention the ancient pink rose that while I have no idea what it is has a knockout scent and the prettiest bud I've ever seen on a rose), it would have to be pretty powerful to catch my nose without serious attention. I'm going out in an hour and I'll sniff a bit and let you know!
