New HFGH finally worth pics (kinda long)
Comments (10)Swamp cooling information below. The solar cover is hard to say, At least a factor of 2 to 3. Depends on how much sun you get during the day and what kind of heat storage you have. Ex. -water barrels, rock, gravel or brick floor. Double or triple panels or single layer glass as I have. If you read my page you will see I use very little heat and I am in a colder zone. I have bananas and elephant ears and lots of different gingers (which needs to go dormant to bloom). I had kept my temps between 45-47 but it got to 35 a few times with no harm. I have lowered my temps to below 45. Zone 9 should be no problem to heat to keep above freezing. Things still grow and my callas love the cool temps and bloom in Jan. MY blue sky vine also blooms in the winter. Cooling is your biggest concern. A smaller greenhouse is harder to cool than a larger one. But easier to heat. I can only keep my summer temp 10 degrees above outside temps with what I have now. So a few days it hit close to 110* in between misting times. Our humidity stays between 80-90 most days. That makes it harder to cool. I am 10 miles from Lake Lanier, our main watershed. If you have heard the news this is the worst drought ever for Georgia. So I cut back on watering as much as possible. Comments (76)Pip, your kitchen is gorgeous. Would you mind telling me what size the backsplash tiles are? They look to be 1x2. Do you know what color grout was used? Do you know if your installer sealed those tiles before grouting? Did you notice the color looked the same or different after it was grouted? I have been searching for white onyx backsplash and what I've found doesnt seem to have as much color variation as yours. I contacted Stone Mill in CA and it is too cost prohibitive to have it shipped to me in MD, so I am trying to find something on this side of the country that comes close. Thanks...See MoreMy latest, greatest and 'final' design- Final thoughts?
Comments (46)Still can't find that article but I did find inspiration photos for you. Several of them show banquettes with angled corners and round or oval tables that I think would work well in your space. I have to echo what rhome said. We're not trying to be harsh but we do see errors in your plan that we think you'll regret and, as someone already pointed out, you did ask for feedback. Even the best plans can benefit from feedback and tweaks so please don't take the advice personally. Comments (28)Wow that's great work. Thanks for spending the time to work on it. I would be glad to have an emailed copy. It will be one less that I have to work on even though I need the practice. Look out your email may fill up with questions when I get some time to work on the old photos! You had me scared for a minute I was thinking that your Mom's picture looked just like my Grandfather's when I clicked on the link. I know she was so pleased to have the photo restored. By the way, in my photo my Grandfather is the one riding the bicycle. Maybe we should start a photo of the day? My first request is Barbara in her new beautiful dress!...See Moresherrygirl zone5 N il
