I love the color of your nail polish! I really enjoy getting a pedicure, find it so very relaxing. Love getting a manicure too!

Ha! I'm reading this while getting a pedicure! Glad you enjoyed it and your toes look good. I usually get one a month, May - August, and give my nails a break the rest of the year. If I do it myself, it doesn't look nearly as good or last as long.

I took Mom for her first professional manicure and pedicure shortly after she moved in with me. She wasn't sure she wanted to do it. Afterwards, she stated it was the most wonderful experience and wanted to know how soon we were going back for our next appointment.

Love the color you chose. It seems to be a popular color as I see it a lot. Being handicapped and so little, I can't get up in their chairs to get a pedicure and our salon doesn't have a portable unit. I was getting manicures with acrylic nails for many years and finally gave that up and do my own nails now.

I don't go often usually every June for my birthday. It lasts a long time. It's very relaxing. I too love that color. My favorite is Santiago Sangria by OPI.

I may go get one once I am well again to celebrate.

Cute feet! I've never had a pedicure, I do my own toes. Small town, few choices or maybe I would have acquired the habit ;-) My SILs go an hour away for theirs, little farther than I'm willing to drive for polish but never say never....

It's not one of my habits, but I do like to get a pedi for the summer months. At one point I was going every week for a manicure, but found that my nails starting splitting. So, I will only do a mani when I have a special occasion or event.

Yes, it is a way to pamper yourself. Some places are nicer than others and include long foot and leg massages, extra lotion etc.

Scattered about are for spas, where you go for just a foot massage.

So pretty! I can't quite adore the modern nail colors for myself but love that others love them! Know what I mean? My polish colors for toes and finger tips are in the pink, rose, coral, pearl shades. I bought a taupe shade a few months ago and love it.

My mother enjoyed her pedicures and went faithfully every several weeks. She made an appointment for me as a treat on one of my visits home....and I developed a nail fungus a few weeks later. Sigh.

I have had fibromyalgia in recent years and even the thought of one of those lovely massaging treatments makes me cringe.

I do keep my feet and nails in good health and paint those toenails for occasions. My habit is to polish them for an event when I will have bare toes, but remove the polish in a couple of days. I'm paranoid about that stupid fungus taking over again.

I'm envious of you girls who can enjoy your pedicures! It's a special treat.

I just want to know about those flip flops (thongs, sandals, ..... ). Where did you find them? They look so comfy!!

The first time I had a pedicure it gave me a fungus. I didn't do that again for a long, long time. The last time I had one I practically had to use a blowtorch to get the paint off after it started to peel.

I am also *cheap*. I automatically tally the annual cost of any recurring expense. I'm a retired 'homebody'. I'm OK with neat and clean, at least as long as I can still reach my toes!

Pedicures (and sometimes manis) are one thing I've come to pamper myself with, without any guilt anymore.

I'm terrible at doing my own fingers, let alone toes, so having someone do a nice job on my feet, AND getting an enjoyable massage to boot, AND keeping my ingrown-tending nails at bay, is now a part of my maintenance routine.

Since I wear sandals year round, I get regular pedicures. I simply cannot reach my own toes anymore without a lot of discomfort. Between that and maintaining my hair color, it's a lot of maintenance.

I'm thinking the pedicurist was probably happy to work on your pretty feet--as opposed to some they see. I've never had a pedicure, and my last manicure was so long ago I forget when it was. I'm sure I'd enjoy the process if it weren't for Raynaud's syndrome, a painful condition that makes my hands and feet too sensitive to be worked on.

When I can afford it, though, I get a massage at a local massage school. The students have to perform a certain number of massages before they graduate. Clients have to fill out a little form evaluating the students, but the price is less than have what a salon/spa charges.

Oh, and the sandals look like Teva. Maybe?

Unfortunately, many technicians do not sanitize the jetted type pedicure throne sufficiently. The EPA approved liquid is sometimes just sprayed onto the surfaces or poured into the basin to soak w/water. But the water that sits in the jet pipes is not affected. And just blows the dirty water back into the basin when turned on. Skin oils, dead skin, nail clippings and product residue forms a perfect feast for bacteria. Add moisture, heat and the dark interior of the pipes and Viola!

Best to bring your own tools. Polish is not generally a source of contamination because of the resin base encapsulates germs. Not that I want to turn anyone off of their beloved pedicures but definitely ask questions and observe the actions of the staff.

The salon, is that what they are called? Had a 100 rating from the health department. I was so naïve, I did not know that they were inspected. Like I said my husband does my toe nails when I do polish them. This was very out of character for me to do this. But I am so excited about going to the Dave Matthews concert, that I bought a pair of leggings to wear-another first for me. And not 1 not 2 but 3 different tops, will depend on the weather on which one I wear. And I have had a couple other people ask about the sandals they are made by Teva.

Your toes and nail colour are so pretty. I love your sandals too! I had a mani-pedi and facial etc once. Ex-hubby gave it as a birthday gift. I hated it. I was bored and uncomfortable. My nails did look good, but I don't find it enjoyable or relaxing. Kudos to you!!!! Hubby is jealous/envious of your concert. He adores Dave Matthews!!! LOL

A little off-topic: I've noticed that the number of stand alone nail salons is inverse to the wealth of a community. There seem to be a TON of nail salons in poorer neighborhoods. When we see a TV reporter interviewing survivors of inner city shootings, the women are made-up, wigged and manicured to the max. I have some guesses, but how do you read this?
