Small, round fluffy bugs
Comments (11)Hi! Thanks for all the input from y'all. I appreciate it very much. I've looked closely at the pictures of the woolly aphids and the bugs I've seen just don't look like those. I think these bugs are larger and they run, not walk, over the leaf. They are not coating anything because they're too busy running around the leaves. There are not very many of them. I saw one larger one and two smaller ones on the same leaf and they were all running around. That larger one I tried to catch scooted over the edge of the leaf and underneath then fell off of the bottomside of the leaf. I've got to catch one of them so I can really look at it and wouldn't ya know--Now that I want to catch one, do you think I can FIND one of them anywhere? A Guinea pig is what came to mind when I saw those bugs--One of those with the hair that has all the cowlicks in its hair that makes it go all which way. I know that sounds crazy, but... I haven't seen any wings on these bugs. I'll keep looking for them and see if I can catch one and take a picture of it. Then I will have to see if Mike can help me figure out how to put it on the forum for you to see. I'm sorry some of you have had such a time of it with the Junebugs. I went out late at night and picked them off the fig tree out back and then I went out and wasn't seeing them anymore. We haven't had many around so far this year. I guess, from what several of you have said, we know where they all are. I'm so sorry that they are tearing up your trees like that. Most of you have more trees than I do and it would be impossible to pick the bugs off of all of them. Serena, where do you live that the Junebugs are so bad this year? God bless you and your trees, Vivian...See MoreWhy are my scrambled eggs always blah?
Comments (44)Low and slow for scrambled eggs here. No addition of water, milk, cream or whatnot. Though some of the suggestions sound good to me. I worked at a breakfast place many years ago and they used just eggs for scrambled and omelets. They whipped them up in those old fashioned malt/shake maker things. I do the same with a wisk for a for a few eggs or use the blender for a dozen or more. I like them a little wet but for those that don't I take them of the heat while still wet and finish them in the pan. I think it's a timing thing but my nephews love them and give their DM a hard time about her eggs all the time....family thing. Farm fresh eggs are great and I miss them after moving back to the city from the lake. The lady I bought them from left them on a table in front of the house with a coffee can to put your money in and you were suppose to leave an empty egg carton or two for your next purchase. It was a perfect until she passed. Her husband wasn't a fan of her chickens and they were history not long after that. David...See MoreScrambled eggs in 20 minutes
Comments (38)Don't know the answer to not cooking problem except that perhaps the eggs froze in the shell during storage, but you'd probably have noticed a crack or two in the shells. So it's probably GMO egg weirdness If you think GMO eggs and chicken are fun I'd hate to enlighten you if you're a beef eater. I've been raising most of what we eat for about 30 years now. And beef and chicken are definitely the scariest things to come from your local grocery store although corn and canola oil are catching up. Beanthere the runny eggs with yolks that cracked with a look were more likely then not because they were old eggs. The older the eggs get the flatter the yolks will stand when cracked and eventually just before they should be considered "eggstinct" they crack no matter how careful you are. Annie you have trouble peeling your fresh eggs because of the lack of air space. I store my eggs pointed end down and if I'm going to be boiling them I try to set some aside a few weeks ahead of time. Also, if you take a thumb tack and prick a hole in the wide end just before dropping them in the boiling water and then cool them in ice water the peels will come off with ease (most of the time) I found my Americana and Aracana hens lay eggs that will slip the shell even when fresh. Don't know why but I usually try to grab the blue or green eggs for hard boiling. Don't know about Ralph's but Wally World, never know what you'll get there. Check your paper to see if anyone has posted sales there or if you have a local feed store that would be a good place to find someone that sells real eggs. You couldn't get me to eat a store egg if my life depended on it. I like orange yolks not white ones. Enjoyed all the eggspert advice and eggcellent laughs from everyone....See MoreThoughts about wallpaper as wall mural?
Comments (37)SUPER high quality (which also means $$$$$) are Zuber, Gracie, and de Gournay. They are usually handpainted or hand-blocked, are always hung using liner paper (so they can be removed and used in another place), and look best in very grand houses. They are usually used in halls, up grand staircases, in dining rooms, and occasionally in a very large and grand bedroom. Farrow & Ball makes some papers that are not murals but large scale paper. While expensive, they are not something that one must win the lottery to even consider. Here are some examples of how it is used. https://www.curbed.com/2016/9/1/12748496/old-house-wallpaper-history-zuber-china https://www.graciestudio.com https://degournay.com/wallpapers For those of you who saw the movie "FIfty Shades of Gray", you might have noticed the fabulous wallpaper behind the bed. According to the NYTImes review of the movie, the de Gournay wallpaper was the best part of the movie. I have not seen the movie but I'm sure I would have spotted the de Gournay wallpaper! I love Farrow & Ball papers and have used them in multiple rooms in my house (I still love wallpaper, even though it is out of fashion). http://us.farrow-ball.com/patterns/wallpaper/fcp-category/sub...See Moreplllog
