Thanks for all the comments encouraging me to go for the two toned cabinets. I think they turned out pretty great! I also changed out the handles (and have new pulls I need to install). Hope you all like it!

I did not use the supplied escutcheon, as this was optional. SINK: Blanco Silgranit Vision2U in truffle color. GRANITE: White Rose. BACKSPLASH: Hakatai Ice Iridescent. CABINETS: Maple, plywood construction. Unknown Chinese manufacture. PAINT: SICO Sketch Paper in Pearl finish - 6206-21 BUDGET: 18K, and I installed the backsplash myself to save $800. Comments (0)my painter/cabinet maker painted my cabinet doors and drawers white (not mixed with color) I originally asked for a color similar to BM White Dove. I have a galley kitchen, no natural light. He also painted all the interior doors and bathroom vanity WHITE. My condo is small, very little natural light. Possibly I could live with the color, however I'm considering having the bottom kitchen cabinets painted a grey color. Currently my floors are a tan-like ceramic (I can change) I have not picked out a counter top. Appliance are white. Comments (55)Jack Hohn, I can't comment on the Mirage floor finish, because we wound up getting another brand. However, we were looking at semi-gloss vs. matte (similar to cashmere) in a natural rift and quartersawn white oak floor, and we absolutely love the matte finish. It looks so soft and beautiful, and shows dirt and dust much less than our old floor which had a glossier finish. In the end, it's a personal preference, but I just wanted to put in my 2 cents in praise of a more matte finish. Comments (56)@annapacificnw, can I ask what grout/color you used? I plan to do a 3x12 subway tile and want a contrasting grout. Yours seems nice and subtle but I can still see the contrast. Also, totally unrelated to your kitchen, I was considering a tufted sofa similar to yours. I was wondering how comfortable they are. I love how they look but was wondering if the backs are stiff?
