Peach leaf question - Zone 5b/6a

Ok, so the peach trees have flowered and leafed out after a good late winter pruning (Zone 6a/Chicago). Most of the leaves look great, but now I notice tiny yellow leaves coming out at the base of some leaf clusters. These yellow leaves fall right off the tree when touched.

Is this a nutrient deficiency perhaps? It seems strange because there are perfect-looking leaves and now these smaller yellow ones emerging, as if the tree has exhausted its supply of a nutrient??

I see plenty of info online about yellow peach leaves, but it all refers to full-sized leaves turning yellow, which is not the case here. Any ideas?
