P. Is the Brooklyn Bridge, not the Roebling Suspension Bridge, although both are quite similar and both were built by Johnathan A. Roebling. The one in Cincinnati was built as a proof-of-concept to show the design would work before he was allowed to build the Brooklyn Bridge.

The only picture I can find of the Roebling Suspension Bridge is from back in the 70's when it was known simply as "The Suspension Bridge"

Aha!! I have walked the Brooklyn Bridge too, but thought that since you have been in Cincinnati, it was the Suspension Bridge and I was going to say that I could understand how Casey thought it was the BB since Roebling designed them both! LOL Also the city at the far side of the bridge looked to "small" to be New York. But I stand corrected!! Great guesses and lots of places I would love to visit someday. Thanks.

Bob, thanks for adding the answers. This is like a free trip around the world!! It's so interesting to me to see bridges in so many different configurations! The concept is always the same, but there is such diversity in how "bridging" something is accomplished! It is neat to see so many different designs all in one place here!! You certainly are lucky to have travelled so much and your documentation is wonderful!!

On E. Pont du Gard you can see that the banks of the river are bare up to a certain level. We were told that that was due to a massive flood about a year earlier. Massive to the point where entire houses were washed down the river, they hit the bases of the massive support columns and were smashed to pieces, and the rubble floated past leaving the aqueduct standing proudly, unaffected, ready for the next 1000 years.

This is the I 10 bridge in Lake Charles Louisiana. It's always been a scary bridge because it is so steep, goes straight up and straight down. But it's in such a state of disrepair and corrosion it's been rated at a failure level for several years now. They keep saying it will be replaced but it's been 15 years since they supposedly started this plan. No work has begun. I hate going on it especially with the rv. We now take the bypass and add a few miles to the trip. But the bypass is so bumpy it's like a roller coaster. Seems like all the casinos could put up funds to get something done. Safety is definitely at jeopardy on that bridge.
