Susan, do you know what kind of lizard that is? He is very colorful.

The lizard is actually a salamander, called a red eft which is the specific name for the juvenile terrestrial phase of the eastern newt. Coincidentally "eft" was the answer to a clue on a crossword puzzle I was working on over the weekend.

I did not realize that Canadian goslings were that color. They appear like a duck at that stage. We have several Canadian geese that raise young in my locality, but by the time I see them, they have feathers and are darker colored.
