I'm trying to find a few great looking trees that I can plant beside a large lake/pond on my land that will colour up the scenery and almost make it look and feel tropical.

i started growing jacaranda and delonix however I've been advised even with lots of care until they are older they won't survive or follow here in the U.K.. I'm based in the north east.

i have been trying to find other types of tree I could grow for this however not much luck as there's so much to go through and lots of varieties.

if people don't mind I could do with some recommendations of trees or large shrubs that I can grow into trees for this purpose.

soil hopefully won't be a problem as I can provide nutrition and soil etc depending on the tree it's the weather that I need to take into consideration

so far I have a wisteria I'm training into a tree. And a rhodendron Cynthia.

if anyone can recommend a list of hardy flowering trees I could use for this I'd greatly appreciate it
