Kittens being killed...
Comments (58)I had a problem with raccoons on my old farm too. They'd eat my cats food then hurt my cats and chickens, I don't live on a farm anymore as we lost half our cats to the raccoons who my dad shot before we sold the house and I moved to town with my kids in my own house. I got a new cat, a house cat from a person on face book but I heard that a local farmer around here actually throws kittens outside and their dog kills them. Im so angry to tell you the truth that so many people are missinformed uneducated jerks when it comes to kittens and their kittens needs, kittens teeth are to small to defend themselves their claws are too small to do any damage a racoon is bigger than a kitten a chicken hawk is bigger than a kitten so is an owl,and these people don't care what kills their kittens im glad you posted this cause this is is a freaken common issue no kitten should be outside till there 1 and big enough to defend themselves i wish farmers would stop thinking about wild cats to keep mice populations down and start caring that their putting another creature in danger as well ,the cat is also a victim Please get adult farm cats, if you want cats stop getting kittens...See MoreNeed Help w/ TORO Mower
Comments (5)The links are good. Though there are some carbs that have only 1 emulsion tube seal, yours should have 2. There should have been remnants of the top seal though- unless you soaked the carb. I have a small brush set which is used for cleaning paint guns I think. HF special. The large one is grippy enough to grab them out. So if it comes apart, I would look for that upper ring again. Plus replace the bowl. In the end , it would seem as though that the float valve seat may not be pressed in all the way. Or possibly installed inverted. If it doesn't press in further, pick up a new kit and try again w/ a dab of lube. The wire on the valve points towards the air filter. Reset the float again, replace the filter and hopefully you will be home free. On a rare occasion, you may just have a leaker on your hands and may need to replace the carb....See MoreAdopting a Kitten or NOT
Comments (39)The world is full of bullies that will use any token to stimulate themselves. You must remember them from the grade school playground? Hopefully sweet kitty was rabid and bit him! Hopefully your little friend was adopted by a teenageish girl that dotes on his every whim providing him with a happy life of luxury. If you live near Michigan I can offer a two year old fixed female that still has her claws. I named her Favorite because that is who she aspires to be in a seven cat household. Her sister Star Trek is also people friendly and a bit bolder in personality. While friendly, sister Chrissy is shy so I'll keep her where she is comfortable. The others, Yoko, Lulu, Annie, and Jessy are fairly established as residents and have no plans to let me give them away. WAIT... I think I found your kitten's online diary... DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting. DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favourite chair...must try this on their bed (again). DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night. DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was...Hmmm. Not working according to plan... DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws. DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The Bird on the other hand has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time. : ) lyra...See MoreFeral kittens
Comments (5)Eight week old kittens should NOT be allowed out of the stall! They are waaaaay too young to know how to stay out of harm's way and protect themselves, and they have no mother to defend them and teach them what they need to know to survive on their own. Those kittens shouldn't be allowed out of the stall until they are large and strong enough to climb out on their own. Also, if scared babies are allowed out of the stall, the likelihood of ever getting near them again is virtually nil ... assuming they survive at all. Bad, BAD idea. If you could take the kittens into your home for the week, keep them in your bathroom, and spend virtually every waking minute with them, you might be able to make a little progress in their socialization. But the socialization will be lost when they are returned to the barn and have no humans with whom to interact. If you really want to try to socialize the kittens, just spend as much time as possible in the stall with them. Take a book, sit on the floor of the stall and read aloud to them in a soft, soothing voice. Avoid direct eye contact with them, and don't stand over them. Let them become accustomed to your inert presence. You may not make much obvious progress, but you will be giving them the opportunity to learn that humans are not dangerous predators, and that's a start. Good luck, Laurie...See MoreGarden Lover
