A product for frizzy hair that works

I am always looking for products that will help manage my hair on days with high humidity. I've learned that anything above 60% and my hair is a mess.

I have tried various hairsprays and really was not satisfied with the results.

I asked for advise in Ulta. The sales rep recommended two products by KMS. Both are their Hair Stay products. One is an anti-humidity the other a hold spray.

She told me that there was not a single product that could help with humidity and also having be a hair spray.

Today, humidity level here is 84%. I washed, conditioned, used my styling cream as usual by Aveda. Then, after drying , used the two products above. Then I walked the dog for 30 minutes.

It worked. I have a slight pouf, meaning it is not as sleek as I started, but I am very happy with the results.

The only down side is that they are very sweet smelling. This might be an issue for DH. He is sensitive to perfumes etc.

Anyone else have this issue and have found products that really work?

The real test for me will of course be hot and humid, but at least I have something that works with current conditions.

I have thick and curly hair. Mine also has low porosity. So, with that being said, in hot humid weather, it can become a mess. I have since found SheaMoisture products, and won't use anything else.

Paul Mitchell skinny serum is great, and I recently found Fekkai glossing serum.

Do you mean you bought the Silk Drops, the Wellcomb or the Ceramic Hair straightener? Cause $7 for a hair straightener would be kind of low. It is like an electrical device with two flat panels and you section your hair and run it through from top to bottom. Basically it irons your hair out straight. I use one of the black hair products with it- I forget the name, but it is a yellow can and it sprays a bit of oil. I just section, spray and iron. It will stay that way for a few days if I don't get caught in the rain. I wrap it up tightly in a plastic shower cap to go into the shower. Maybe you bought one that has too low of a temperature setting? I got this idea from an African American co-worker and it works for her hair, which is quite tightly curled.

That's a shame, I hope they're able to get to the root of the problem (sorry for the pun about a serious matter). The beauty products industry is mostly subject to NO governmental regulation or inspection, anything (short of substances known to cause unwanted effects) can be put into products and adulterated ingredients of sketchy origin can also be used. Products don't need to be tested for safety, to confirm that adverse effects and reactions aren't caused. The nutritional supplement business is also unregulated and uncontrolled, As with beauty products, unsubstantiated claims can be made and there's no knowing what's in the bottles and jars. And no knowing what effects the ingredients may or may not have.

Static hair....products?

A few weeks ago my daughter and I had terrible static. A few things I have done and I do not know which worked but it is now under control. I have been doing a deep mayo treatment once a week in addition to my regular conditioning and morracan oil before heat appliances. In the beginning I used fabric softener sheets on my DDS' hair before school and it worked. And I think most importantly I have purchase three large ultrasonic humidifiers. Each covers over 650 feet and they are even "kinda" of stylish. My humidity was hovering between the teens and low twenties in my house now it maintains between 30 and 40 percent. Hair, skin,nose and lips are so much better. I love them so much I have purchased ones for my parents, in laws, and siblings this Christmas. Luma comfort humidifiers, I have no affiliation with this product just like it.

Your hair has probably developed a frizzy like curl to it. This is what my hair has done since I've aged. It seems there are more frizzy hairs in my head by the day! No product will make straight hair out of curly hair. You are probably left with having to use a hot straightener(flat iron) if you want smooth hair. It's a pain but that's really all that will make curls into straight hair. The curl that my hair has developed is much like what you would get from a crimping iron...it's awful! I want my young woman hair back...HAHA! This is what my hair looks like after a blow dry Well maybe not that bad, that may look cute on a 20 year old but on an almost 60 year old, I look like a witch!

akl_vdb - could you tell me about the glossing serum, please? Does it make your hair shiny? I have dark hair and it looks its best when its shiny. Usually on days I don't wash, I use a little shine cream. I'm curious as to what exactly the serum is/does. TYIA
