Pam: Ah, if only it were! *History* I get by clicking on the cat icon with the clock, and the history menu drops down on the *left* side of the screen. You can see where this one is, and I get this menu by clicking on the thing like double parentheses next to the star in the address window. Besides, as I said, I have had History turned off for a long time and that side bar is empty. The items in this menu happen to be mostly things I have only visited once or twice and are by no means representative of my browsing history. If they were, it might be of some use. Owbist: Thanks. I wasn't looking for speed or accessibility. I just don't like having something whose method of working and management I don't know. It bothers me! It even bothers me that I don't know its name, so I am hampered in looking for a solution. Linesman: Your message just came in. That seemed to do the trick, and I was thinking Yippee! But, alas, the sites didn't stay deleted. They disappeared when I highlighted them and clicked Delete, but the minute I clicked on the "parentheses" mark that brings up that menu, there they all were again. Closing and reopening FF didn't make a speck of difference. I have found that clicking on the star in the URL window adds a new site. So half of the mystery is solved, but the half that most interests me is the deleting part! LOL I think I'm going to have to uninstall and reinstall FF, but even that may not help.

Neither I nor anyone else suggested that, Glenda. In fact, I was careful to say I didn't want to criticize. With that in mind, Suzieque's post was well said. I don't recall seeing the "Pet Peeves" thread, but I'll hazard a guess that some of the things that annoy some people are not a source of annoyance to others. And, as Suzieque said, most annoyances are not big things. But of course that doesn't stop them from being annoying . . . to some. I guarantee that those of us who do find those teaser subject lines annoying (just annoying, mind you--we're not tearing out our hair or spiking our blood pressure or making demands) have plenty of small stuff that we don't sweat. And I'm pretty certain that those who claim to have learned not to react to little things have something (some small thing) they find irritating as hell.

Most fixture manufacturers make thermostatic valves that do just one thing -- control the mix of hot and cold water at a temperature that you select. Turning the handle on a thermostatic valve doesn't turn the water off and on, it simply selects the temperature setting. In addition to the thermostatic valve, you need a volume control valve for each emitter (shower head/body sprays/tub filler/handheld/etc.) that you want supplied with temperature controlled water passing through the thermostatic valve. The volume control valve allows you to turn each emitter off and on, and to control the volume of water flowing to each. You can have as many emitters (and volume control valves) as you want, although the number of emitters you'll be able to have running at any one time will depend on your water pressure, and the size of the water line supplying the thermostatic valve. Generally, if you intend to have more than one emitter on at any given time, you should probably have a 3/4" supply feeding the thermostatic valve. If you plan to have only one emitter on at any one time, you can get by with 1/2" supply line. The cost of a thermostatically controlled system will vary based on the brand and quality of the fixtures you select, and the number of emitters. Almost all thermostatic systems will cost more than a pressure balanced system with a two or three-way diverter valve. The labour cost to plumb a thermostatic system will be greater, too. Most times on this forum I see people ask questions without providing the necessary details to elicit a proper response. This leads to all kinds of comments from people who may only have limited experience on the subject. In general someone building cabinets on site and finishing on-site means it's not a top tier operation espically building them. On-site oil paint finishing, there are exceptions, Christopher Peacock cabinets which we all know are probably the most expensive cabinets out there are calked, filled and hand brushed oil painted on site. They do use one of the most expensive paints FPE (fine paints of Europe) and very experienced skilled painters. This is probably not the case here but without knowing anything more about what they are actually doing and why or what you are expecting for what you are paying I would get some answers before going any further.
