Adenium Blooms Dropping
Comments (3)Hi, thanks for the reply. It did have a bud developing when I brought it home, bud the bud never opened and ended up dropping. On the outside of it, it had one of the same spots. I looked at your pictures, and that's not really what they look like. The spots are about the size of a pencil eraser, and are a yellowish-dark brown color. I did a little research, and I'm almost thinking that it might be something like a calcium deficiency. I water the plant thoroughly every five days. The leaves are doing great, perfect, actually. I just need to get this bloom problem solved. It was kept in a greenhouse before, so it might be an acclimation issue....See MorePreventing early bloom drop
Comments (6)I only have the problem with the Hilo Beauty. The common yellow that is planted next to it (literally, 5 feet away) has no issues, but then again I could hack a common yellow to pieces and it would still find a way to bloom! Both are in the ground. The Nebels Rainbow that's planted next to the common yellow is completely confused and is the only one of my plumerias that is already sporting tons of new leaves. But, I've found each of my plants has its own needs, I just need to figure out how to convince my HB to hold onto ALL of its blooms! I mostly do foliar feeding during the growing season with the Spray-N-Grow regimen, I was adding seaweed extract last year but found that it stained my lighter colored blooms. I also use Messenger and Pro-tekt. So while I THINK my plumerias should be happy, HB throws a fit every year. With 50 branches that all have the potential to bloom, I would LOVE to see it covered in red this year....See Moreopen blooms dropping
Comments (4)Normal. Flowers are only on the plant for a few days then drop so more can keep coming. Take your flower and float it in cold water for several hours and then put it in the refrigerator overnight. Then put in in a vase so the stem is in water. It will last 2-6 days depending on the variety. Your celadine is hardy and will last 3-5 days. Meanwhile your plant will keep pumping out flowers for several months. Enjoy. Comments (1)blooming in most plants is related to how many hours of sunlight they get per day. google the particular species of plant you're trying to grow to find out when it blooms. then check the average hours of sunlight for that timeframe. then adjust your lighting to match. Tomatoes also require fertilization before they'll produce fruit. outside the insects will do this. but if you grow them indoors you'll have to assist them. I'm guessing that's what you mean when you say you thump them several times a day. some people use an electric toothbrush to buzz the buds. this vibrates the pollen loose without damaging the buds. you mention that the hydro gets indirect sun and the soil ones get no sunlight. and the hydro had some blooms but the soil didn't produce any. so, my first guess would be that sunlight is the issue. it could also be a nutrient problem, but considering that you're using a nutrient for flowering you should be ok. good luck. and let us know if you figure this one out....See MoreAerilaya (8b-9a SouthTX)
