MichelleDT unfortunately those particular Kamado's (komodo) are garbage. The guy making those is a scam artist and I wouldn't buy one for $100. The one I have is the "Vision Grill" which is sold by Costco for $540, complete with cart, side boards and very nice cover. It is about the same as a Big Green Egg although they are usually in the $1000+ range. The one I have is a "real Kamado" type grill, comes with a lifetime guarantee. The company seems to be top notch and very responsive. On mine the first time I used it the firebox developed a crack which is not all that unusual for these types of grills, however I emailed the company, got a response from the CEO in 5 minutes and without any questions sent me a new firebox that very day that I received 6 days later free of charge. I now have 2 fireboxes, as the one that is cracked could last another 10-20 years or more then I have a lifetime of fireboxes. I just took the new one left it in it's popcorn packaging and heavy box and stored it away for when its needed. "Most" Kamado style cookers are actually in the $800-$1400 range, Big Green Eggs are probably the most popular, Primo's, Kamado Joes, Grill Dome, Saffire. There are numerous ones, I chose the Vision Grill because I could buy it from Costco which means both excellent price and best return policy ever and I could just go and buy it and not order online. It was a chore for my wife and I to move it to our back deck however because it weighs like most Kamados about 250# and we have 37 steps to go down from our car to front door. For the price I do not think there is a better BBQ/Grill/Smoker available anywhere. This is ours on our deck smoking away, have cooked on it 5 times so far and everything has come out perfect especially the Prime Rib. this is the inside firebox. Comes with very nice heavy duty thick stainless racks, it is 19" across. and a nice heavy well made cover.

If you are looking in the luxury class BBQ I would go with FireMagic. FireMagic uses cast SS burners 1/4 inch thick. They use 304SS for the body and higher grade 316SS for the burners. Cal-Flame has very thick cast SS burners but their stuff is made in China while Firemagic is made in Southern California. If I was shopping in this class I would definetly get USA made. If you don't want to spend this kind of money then I would definetly get Weber. Look through the link below and scrowl down. It shows pictures of different brand of buners cutout. BTW American Outdoor Grills is a slightly cheaper brand from Firemagic. Not quite the BTUs,bells and whitsles,and no 316SS. Here is a link that might be useful: Burner Comparison.

OPh my. I go away for a couple of days, and Raeanne and Suzanne start the French Lick party without me! LOL! For everyone's infomation, all 3 of mine are the truths! (JK!!!LMAO!) I guess Suzanne is # 3 Raeanne is # 2 Well, it is a quiet Saturday night here. Rog went to bed early, and I'm watching Flashdance, and thinking OMG--did I ever really wear torn sweatshirts?? (yep.) I think that's why I love to watch old(er) movies--for just a second, I am back to an age where there wasn't any major problems, and I still believed all people were good, and the whole world was open for the taking. :):) OK--advice needed--mom keeps wanting me to come over and watch some 2+ hours, B&W, 1940 movie with who-knows in it (I've never heard of them). At the risk of sounding like a cold-hearted @#!^%, I have NO (none, el zilcho, nada) desire to do this--heck, I don't even have the time to watch what I actually want to watch, much less this thing. Now, I know how important spending time with her and dad is, and I enjoy just sitting around yapping, but our choices of movies are a complete 180. The last time I got coerced into this, I pr@yed to die of boredom, and then fell asleep. It was a truly aweful movie, and part of me resents being guilted into this. We're fixing Christmas dinner for Christmas Eve to take over, before we go to Midnight services, and mom brought up this d@mned movie again. Gawd, I'll watch it, but I'd rather be sh0t--any suggestions? (I really am not being cold, I would just rather sit around and talk--and she knows this.) Anyhoo--hope this finds everone well! I was looking to spend between $1000-$2000... Not interested in name, only quality unit, even cooking, safe design for grease. My current cheap grill had the burners too close to the grease tray that also did not drain properly... I cleaned it almost every other use, but it still caught fire. chulaman, that looks great!. I assume the hood and stainless backing allow the grill to be used under roof and against the house? I am not sure if I could get away with that in my town... I think it has to be x ft from house and not under roof. After 1 grill fire, I am designing my new grill/island far from any combustible structures... I have seen some that have cast iron grates, ceramic grates and stainless steel grates... what is best to cook on? Do grills not have the lava rocks any more? I thought they were helpful in keeping the heat more even.
