Comments (4)Well, my old redbud is about to bite the dust -- but it's been working on that for several years. I've got one youngish (about 15 years) maple that is looking stressed, but not fatally. I've got dead leaves on the ground, but I haven't really looked closely at the mature (about 90-100 years) maples to see how they're doing....See MoreFriday's blooms before the furnace
Comments (10)Shive: The pic of TBP was taken in the morning. By the afternoon, both TBP and JH are darker in color. I believe the cooler mornings contribute the grayed look, but once it warms up the color fills in. Julia: California can keep the wildfires. I have had WEPD for three years and it is a great performer. It just started to bloom and the scapes are tall and well branched. It increases well. It is certainly one worth growing. It's one of my favourite plants: Howard - Are those four all different hybrids? The middle two do look very similar. I remember that springboks grow slowly? May be a while before the differences become evident. Here are my two slowest Haworthia. If any of you have them as well, I'm curious to see if they are slow for you too. Comments (8)What a magnificent clump of Claudine's Charm! I love the bloom, but after losing it twice, I've given up on it. It interests me that your say Jellyfish Jealousy always has tall scapes. It's only registered at 24 inches. I've grown mine in a pot for more than a dozen years, and 24 inches is what I get. But I saw it on 27-28 inch scapes in a garden in Kingsport. It looks like you will have many flowers on that High Watermark clump. I think my most favorite photo is the one of Gentle on My Mind and Lost in the Toy Store. The clump shot of Maui Sunrise looks much more how mine looks most of the time. Beautiful post, Julia! Debra...See More- 9 years ago
