I found this out by the dumpster, and just knew I could do something with it, so I have been staring at it for a couple of weeks now.

This is just screwed together in pieces. Imagine it 1/4 the width, painted white. My plan is to take it apart, cut all the long boards into 4 equal pieces, use the extra pieces to make the shelves deeper, paint it white and use it to hold toilet paper. I figure it will hold 14 rolls.

Wonder what it was for, don't think quilt rack, maybe to hang towels over in the bathroom. Maybe held VHS tapes. Door behind it is either 30 or 36 inches. so boards cut in 4 would be 7 1/2 in or 8 in. so would be like a toilet paper tower. Is it to go in closet or on display? sounds like family needs it close at hand or won't get put on holder!

It is a cd/dvd rack. It's going into the bathroom. I have a small bathroom, and not much closet space, so need something that will hold a 12-pack of TP. There is no family. Just me. It's just a matter of no storage space.

Poolexpert, thanks for your post.....I didnt want to drain the pool to determine IF there is a problem. I know pebble tec guarantees there product, thats not my issue, I am just hoping what we feel is just "normal". But you made me a little nervous when you said they guarantee the quality not application....they prepped and applied, I would think this would be covered, if there is a problem. I have to address the issue when we return from vacation. Its not the sides of the pool but the bottom where it meets the side....its a very rounded area, not a 45...so it feels like the problem (if there is one, extends from that edge out into the pool....about 1 to 2 feet. I noticed this odd vibration/feeling all over, but not everywhere and of course I cant really check the deep end, thats why I am hoping its normal, not the finish. If it didnt adhere...what will eventually happen. Wont the water pressure keep the pebble tec in place. They put a dark gray bonding agent all over the pool 2 days before they installed. Doesnt a bonding agent go on just before you adhere cement? Maybe this was a different product. It was a question my husband had when he came home the night after they prepped. Do you install pebble tec? If so, is this a very rare problem, so I am probably imagining it.

dc - Thanks so much for taking time to comment and snap the pic -- love what you did with the BS! As I pondered this more, I realized the stripe effect will indeed be more pronounced if I go with a solid white BS. Because we went with our brown/grey cabs (which I love) and are committed to the Black Pearl, I wanted to be sure to lighten up the rest of the kitchen as much as possible. Believe it or not, the one thing I really REALLY wanted to do when I graduated, was become a minister. No way my parents would have helped with that, even if they could have, Women. Just. Did. NOT! Do.That! I've made a lot of dumb decisions in my life, and a number of bad ones, too. But not sure I'd do much different if I could go back in time, I'd probably make the same mistakes all over again. I did the best I could with what I had at the time, and I am happy and content with where my life choices have landed me. There are just so many more opportunities available to young people now! Especially to young women. So many fields that used to be gender specific are now open to men and women, both. And there are so many fields available now that didn't even exist 60 years ago. I live just a few blocks from a university campus, and drive through it any time I go anywhere. And I can't help but wonder, as I see students of all races and many different nationalities, if they realize just how fortunate they are to have the choices they have, and if they really appreciate them. I don't really have any regrets, but I think I am just a bit envious of those born about 60 years later than I was! Rusty

Hm, I was somewhat disappointed with it. The whole time I was watching it I kept thinking "just like Splash". The sea creature in the bathtub, the love story between the sea creature and the human, the evil scientists who want to exploit the sea creature, the end where they swim off together. It was a cross between Splash and The Monster from The Black Lagoon. I saw The Post over the weekend and really enjoyed that. ETA: I thought Octavia Spencer did a terrific job in her role in SOW.

OK, I just was thinking you might be tired of nobody putting the new roll on! I never would have thought of that but I think it will work fine & to buy a wooden rack would be expensive. Post pic when you are finished as other people probably could benefit from recycling 1 of those. Great save from landfill!

Thanks! People on a dumpster diving forum were telling me to toss it back, but I knew that if I looked at it long enough, I could find a use for it. I'll definitely post pics when it's done. This apartment is challenging, and I'm always looking for ways to add storage. I'm definitely not a minimalist. LOL

The tp roll idea is genius! It would also hold damp towels for drying, in a pinch!!!
