Not to sound offensive, but no, they do not look very happy. Here's some advice: 1) Are they in full sun? Otherwise sun all day with no obstruction? Light is your most important factor. 2) What is the consistency of the soil? Gravelly/sandy soils are ideal. Heavy clays are less so but CAN be amended and support lavish growth. 3) I don't recommend fertilizing unless it is higher in Phosphorus and Potassium, low in nitrogen. But, any complete water-soluble formulation is okay. 4) Keep water minimum 5) Be sure the plants haven't been planted too deep. This will ultimately cause rot. 6) A gravel mulch would be helpful to keep weeds down and soil moisture consistent. I don't recommend organic mulch of any type as it retains too much moisture. 7) If they are in a shaded area, keeping them dry is crucial. Wet conditions = potential pest and disease problems. 8) Remember, cacti are slow growing and shouldn't be 'forced' to grow fast. Keep an eye out for pests that can lodge into the crevices of the cactus. 9) Once established, natural rainfall should be adequate. Your aloes, agave, and yuccas seem to be thriving. They don't particularly need much more care than what you currently are providing. The picture of the yucca in the corner looks like it may be dying. Keep all organic debris away from base of plants. kat, so glad you're past the hat and scarf stage! i enjoyed the chemo-curl (straight hair all my life) but it's fading...and isn't it convienent the pixie cut is back! i did get tired of the "steel" color mine was, so have used one of those temp colors in a blondish tone...don't look as washed out, as i did... enjoy!

That is an interesting way to go about it:). I guess you gotta do what you gotta do:). In the pic above the one that looks like it has more rock looks good. The rock sizes look ok. Make sure the rocks aren't any bigger or smaller than what is in the pic above. No dust or anything really fine like powder. That can cause problems. The grittier the better. You should probably rinse the grit off with water to remove anything that's dusty. Just leave alone in an area with bright filtered light. No direct sun. No water either till roots form. This may take awhile. Maybe months. Just be patient:).
