Something is taking over my mint plant. What can I do about it?

At first I started seeing little white things on the leaves, then today I noticed loads of little brown/green bug looking things all over. Photo. Are they hurting the plant? What can be done about this? I'm in BC, Canada, if that makes any difference.

Edit: Now I'm noticing that a few of the insects have wings, but most of them are not moving.

looks like aphids get some neem oil and some soap and spray them.

You can do a great deal to get rid of aphids with plain water and some squishing with your fingers. NO need for anything else when it comes to aphids.

Aphids can kill your plant if you continue to let them multiply like crazy. Keep after them on a regular basis; that's part of gardening.

i find zuccini plants will climb. i would put like a fencing around it and it should start climbing upward. thats what it did in my case.

Yes - I'd go for Vinca minor for no.5 too. Especially since all the others are the same kind of hardiness and Trachelospermum is not. I'm with FataMorgana on the Melissa and the Nepeta. redthreaddiy - you might know the Hylotelephiums as Sedums. But what on earth is that 'Like a petunia' thing? Leaves are wrong for Salpiglossis and Alstroemeria. Any other ideas anyone?

If I look at wikipedia the leaves look different to me. But the flowers do look the same. Only the colour is different, but I suppose that there can be different colours. By the way: I find the flowers very similar to forget-me-nots. But those really have different leaves. So is it, or is it not? If it is, it is something very healthy. But there are only a few, so not very useful.

Hello, not sure if you have made an ID, but the plant in the photo is called Trumpet Creeper (Campsis radicans). Indeed a very tough & rampant vine, you will need to kill the stump to get rid of this, because merely cutting back the shoots won't do. Hope this helps.

Is your mint indoors? It looks a little etiolated as if it is lacking in light. Aphids love a stressed plant in an indoor environment where there are no predators and no adverse weather. If you can get the plants outside I think your mint will be a lot happier. Meantime hold the pot sideways under a running tap and swoosh the foliage with your fingers.
