Morton's Neuroma

Has anyone here dealt with Morton's Neuroma lately? My foot doctor, whom I have seen twice for this problem, has recommended a series of sclerosing injections, where an alcohol solution is injected into the foot, so they can rinse the affected nerve endings to reduce them. I don't want cortisone injections and orthotics have helped a tiny bit but hurt the rest of my feet, so I can't wear them long term - and neither is a cure.

I had an appointment scheduled for the sclerosing injections tomorrow, but just canceled it after reading some negative information online. I think my next step is a second opinion, given that some of what I read online indicates that many doctors think sclerosing is "quack medicine."
