Anyone recognize this signature?
Comments (7)Hi, just wanted to let y'all know that I found out what the words were on this mouse. "Hoselton Canada 1371". This company makes sandcasted aluminum pieces. Thanks for taking the time to help me on this one. p.s. The pencil tracing actually helped steer me in the right direction....See MoreCan you help me identify the maker/time of this ceramic piece?
Comments (0)I bought a ceramic piece a few years ago, because I just loved how it looked. On the inside there was a stamp/signature and I am just curious if anyone could help me figure out the name of the company/artist. Can anyone identify the maker of this? Or at least a relative time period in which you think it was made? I do not know enough about ceramic/sculpture antiques, so I was hoping to start here. -Thank you....See MoreAnyone know what krislrob's tumbled slate BP is?Maker?
Comments (2)I think it was just a tumbled copper slate. Copper slate generally runs quite a gamut colorwise, from very 'pure' copper to green tones that look like verdigris. Some pieces have a pink cast that I don't personally care for. Every box I've seen was a mix of these shades, some running more copper, others more green. Realitively few tiles have both shades together. It's also available as a honed material, and is sometimes considered a quartzite instead of a slate. Copper is the warmest color family for this slate. Ocean geen and grey green are similar but cooler, and have the same sort of irridescent sheen. I'd hit the local stone and tile yards: its always safest to buy a natural material hands on, rather than ordering from a sample that may have come from a whole different quarry [or country]....See MoreAnyone know what type of cabinet this is, year made, maker?
Comments (8)It does have a Heywood Wakefield feel to it but their stuff was widely replicated in the 1950's. I have a piece in the same blonde wood - I have no idea what mine was used for originally as the top is split in the middle and when you open it, there are little partitions that fold into each other. I use mine to store jewelry but I sometimes think mine might have been a sewing thing which the lady of her house kept at the side of her chair. The interior with the grooves for adjusting the shelving is nice. I don't think it was sold as anything specific at the time - could be an end table. It could even have held a HiFi :-)....See Morelindac92
